#wild sirens

//Wild Siren encounter.!

The beach. There’s something similar to whale song not too far off. A bit… hypnotic, almost.

It’s familiar? Like…

A splash in the water. Sirens.

Smaller, maybe the size of adult humans… so they can’t be fully mature yet. Which likely means the parents aren’t too far away.

How exciting! Always one for caution Artem reaches into their pockets and pulls out one of their spare pairs of earplugs before they approach the shore. After all they don’t want to fall into a trance while enjoying the song, so it’s better to listen through a filter

Maybe they can mimic it for Ponyo later to help them learn

After months of waiting and another several weeks of enchanting: Artem has finished creating a portal using two giant mirrors, they’re tethered to one another and covered in protective sigils. It is only with ♪ ♪ ♫‘s, Artems, or Beaus permission that anyone would be able to use said portals.

Artem is rolling one of the mirrors into the cave within the sirens tank. They give a greeting chirp as they enter the cave.

Ponyo squeals. They have ended up: on the floor outside of the tank. There is another siren— older than ponyo but clearly still young— guiltily leaning over the tank and trying to grab at ponyo

Artem rushes over, and scoops some water over Ponyo first.

It was a big fall for someone so little so they want to check for a neck injury or any other signs of broken bones before they attempt to move the little one.

“Careful not to move too much baby.. can you feel all your fins?”

The tank is very busy. A lot of sirens. Mostly adults, but there could be babies that are just hiding.

Though, the tones of many of the sirens are not good.

Artem does the greeting chirp followed by a curious trill

The tank looks empty for a minute, but something moves under the sand.

Ponyo peeks their head out, lapping at the water a bit.

The sand is still moving— before another tiny siren head pops out.

Have you ever considered using the thermal vents to cook meat?
