-- I understand you, but i HAVE to know, why can't i remember my past?! Not only you - and Cysero - says odd things about some reset, recently... Safiria did. I mean, what was that Jack Crescent style! Just... find some way to break that memory spell. Please.
Warlic looks at you sadly, for a long slow moment. Then he breaks his gaze away and takes a drink from his glass.
He seems to be putting it off but when he can dally no longer he faces the adventurer.
“I won’t do that. I could, easily, ugh,” he groans and reads the label on a nearby bottle before pushing it aside. “it’s been years and I’m still coming up with rat poison in my bottles. This isn’t rat poison, it’s just particularly cheap wine. What was I saying?”
His face twists a little and he smiles. “right, I won’t do that to you. I can’t handle it, Cysero can’t handle it, a dark god couldn’t handle it and I have not even half an idea how Safiria handles it.”
He laughed suddenly. “oh, do you think she knows? Jaania? What would she think if she knew how far we’ve all fallen?”
His laughter dies away and he faces his guest again. “you don’t know what you’re asking me, it’s a lifetime of memories, a life that is not you, friends you will never see again, people who you will face everyday and never know again. Everything will be suspect and wrong and broken and you’ll desire greatly to return to a home which no longer exists. Loreon is gone, the empire is gone! This…” He gestures widely. “this is all that’s left! It’s not enough. It’ll never be enough!”
He slumps back in his chair, takes the bottle and drinks from it until it’s empty then soothes a hand over his eyes with a world weary sigh.
“Well then, get over here. You want me to do it right? Remove the blocks in your memory, hero, that I created in our past lives. A life I robbed us both of. You want to understand that which bleeds into the here and now because I was sloppy.”
He moves his hand and lets the bottle fall and shatter on the ground.
“Come on now, I’ll do it. But you won’t get this chance again. Not when I’m sober. Come.”
