@wildborne asked: “Do birds ever sit on you and get confused?”
MEME ( Always Accepting )
The wolf could SAY with certainty that he’s never heard that
question before. What added to his confusion, plainly seen on
Will’s face, was the fact that he DIDN’T even recognize the voice.
With furrowed brow, he looked down to see just who asked such
a random AND strange question. When green eyes landed on the
smaller woman, he could say without a doubt he did not know her.
“Uh, NO.” Will answered still giving her a confused look.”I can say
I’ve never had that happen to me before.” He added as arms crossed
over his chest. “Who are YOU?” A question of his own as his head tilted
to the side. Maybe something could be cleared up for him once she started
talking but for the moment, he was so LOST.
Peace was easy to come by in the cabin, a place of his sole existence. No other creatures disturbed it. If they did? They never lasted long. But there’s a different kind of peace between two people, where words were obsolete while touch powerful. Kemuel sat with Skylar under the handful of firs populating the high outcrop on the mountain. The small city, surrounded by a sea of evergreens and speckled with meadows, was theirs to claim yet they only did in memory.
He leaned into the shorter, arm draped around her side while his cheek pressed tenderly against her head. The angel’s breath was slow, silent, as he sat there with the tigress. Owls hooted time and again but the sound enhanced rather than disrupted the scene. He closed his eyes to take in her warmth, whispering, ever so tenderly, ever so genuinely.
she has a strict rule about not involving herself in dean’s business, but she figures it doesn’t matter. she wasn’t going out of her way to be nosy, and really, how was she supposed to not become friends with his kind of girlfriend? it was only natural. she’s going to stick to that.
she does the only thing she can think of, pulling sky into her arms and petting through her hair. a soft hum; she just needs her to calm down.
“ listen to me. you can do this. i won’t lie to you, it’ll probably be hard, but if you just talk to my brother, he’s more understanding than you think. ” that’s going to help, right? she’s not good at this. she has four brothers for fuck’s sake. “ wait, no. he’ll probably do something stupid, but given the chance, he’ll be right there with you the whole way. ”
“Don’t worry about it,” his voice showed his obvious exhaustion, he’d been through some ordeal, that much was clear by the blood staining his shirt; some his own but mostly that of the creature he had met in the deep darkness of an abandoned building. Some case of a missing girl, Jake was sure there was more information that was missed by the humans that had headed the investigation originally. There was more and it came in the form of a creature that had left a good few markings on Jake, one’s hidden partially by the nearly shredded shirt he had on. He was irritated and thus snapped at the brunette he’d gone to, not necessarily for his wounds to be tended to-- it was more so because he felt safe and could rationalize his thoughts better with her around.
Kemuel’s wings ached and the muscles below his plumage throbbed in pain. How long had it been since they’ve had proper attention? Too long, as the angel’s eyes closed while Skylar’s adept fingers sunk into the warm feathers.
The were tiger and he had grown close since their initial encounter. Opening up to one another, adjusting to the sight of each other’s presence, as well as the inclusion of their feelings, Kemuel found solace with the tigress. She grounded him when nothing else could. Skylar’s feline pupils focused on the brown feathers, easing the rapid beat of her heart.
She adjusted her pace so her fingers rolled along the soft, almost vulnerable flesh below. Skylar’s fingers soon went from feathered flesh to an exposed scar, where feathers felt threatened to grow on. The tigress bowed her head, though she hesitated to go further, “Does it hurt?” a pause.
“Not now. You can touch it, if you wish,” Kemuel murmured over his forearm, chin resting along one of his scars there. His eyes slowly opened, pools of umber examined Skylar. Her fingertips followed the large scar’s mark, until it gave way to a small patch of scapulars. It felt old, deep to the touch. Skylar understood how such scars came to be, as she had her own from surviving against others’ wills.
He focused his thoughts on her fingers, taking in how light and gentle they had been. Feeling her fingers travel from one end of the scar to the other, Kemuel’s lips parted for a soft, shaken sigh. Tears budded at the corners of his eyes but he made no move to wipe them. It was something else to be touched gently, healing wounds instead of creating them.
Tree leaves whispered outside of the cabin while sunlight streamed in through the windows. It was him and Skylar, weretiger and angel. Nothing else was on his mind but the peacefulness of their situation. Skylar’s hand rested on his scar, while her other combed through his plumage slowly. She couldn’t believe how warm it was, as if she were dipping her hands in bits of sunlight. To think the birdman didn’t indulge in his wings’ properties, despite showing her them minutes upon meeting each other? The memory brought a soft smile to her lips.
“We can stay this way, quiet.” Skylar offered, slitted eyes looking to the angel’s own.
It was late as Jake stepped out of his sleek black Mercedes and headed towards the police station, before he’d even reached the steps he felt it, the power. The feeling was something that rarely faltered him in a confident and dominant stride, this time, there was a slight peak of cautious intrigue, something only another predator would feel. As Jake threw open the doors to the station he knew this was going to be a trial-some evening, attentive eyes found the officer behind the receptionists desk and the tall dark eyed man flashed a professional smile in greeting before he emptied his pockets into a container that the woman had sat in wait of his items. The lawyer had been through this process several times and it was not his first time to this particular police station, after signing in Jake moved around through the metal detectors before he was returned his things and greeted by the arresting officer. From the second the two shook hands the arresting officer was all talk, which often was difficult for the lawyer to obtain, a talkative police officer. All the man could go on about was how strange the suspect was, her eyes being the main point of the conversation back to the interrogation room in which Jake’s newest client sat.
Pausing at the door to allow the officer to finish speaking Jake simply nodded before he proceeded to enter, gaze first going to the other officer that was in the room standing near the door as if he were afraid of the slender brunette woman that sat chained to the interrogation table. The vampire huffed a breath and nodded towards the woman. “May I please have my client uncuffed and perhaps,” his gaze darted to do a once over of the woman. “Some coffee?” It was a question aimed at his client to see if there was anything else she may like, it was his first priority to get the whole story and what would help his client, there was no mistaking she was strong, some creature he had not come across in all his time as a lawyer, there was a first time for all things though.
@wildborne asked: “ would a glow stick make you feel better ? ” // MEMES ( Always Accepting )
There was a MOMENT of silence as Will looked over at the smaller shifter with a look of confusion. Only when he felt the appropriate time had passed to let the question sink in did he decide to finally speak up. “A glow stick? To make me feel better?” He repeated in a questioning tone as he turned to fully face her. “WHY would that make me feel better?” The alpha added with a small tilt of his head. “Last I checked cats are the ones who like light.”
“our glorious crystal future shines so bright i gotta wear shades, as the prophets say.”
Icy blue eyes casted downwards at the UNFAMILIAR voice that spoke up. A phrase he hadn’t heard before or spoken to him by someone he had only just happened to run into. It made the Scotsman question if the other knew more than he thought. After all, he thought he was a pretty well KEPT secret minus the rumors that may have swirled around Inverness. But that was all they were, rumors. True, some had validity to them while others remained outlandish. He had his favorites, the more out of the box the rumors were then the MORE entertaining they would be. However, there was a look about the other that showed she might not buy into words thrown around town. That was assuming she even WENT into the town. So, all he could do for now was give a look and it was one that only let him show some interest in her words. With an arched brow he offered a small and quick smile before addressing what she had to say. “Oh really? Is this a future only ye get to KNOW or are ye gonna let all parties involved in on this little secret of yer’s?”
