As I mentioned in one of my last posts, I got married this past weekend. When we decided to do a small wedding in the woods, I knew that I didn’t want the traditional wedding gown. I wanted to wear something that I felt beautiful in, that was meaningful to me. A month before our wedding, I decided that I was going to make my own wedding dress. I already knew what pattern I wanted to use, as I had been swooning over the wilder dress by fridaypatterncompany for quite some time. This was my very first time making a dress, and my third time in my adult life using my sewing machine. I am so pleased with how it turned out, and felt so good wearing it on my wedding day (along with my favourite sweater because it got pretty cold!) I’m now in the process of natural dye research, as I’m planning on dying it something more colourful for everyday wear, which gives me a lot of excitement and joy. If anyone has any ideas on what colour or plant they think I should use for dying, please let me know! I’d love to hear your opinions!
