Anne Bronte fans will go on about how feminist Tenant of Wildfell Hall is when Helen ends up with GILBERT FUCKING MARKHAM who, nearly beat a man to death for no reason and with no remorse out of unfounded jealousy for Helen. I could not detect a hint of irony in this I’m pretty sure Helen x Gilbert is supposed to be the happy ending couple. I think Helen & Gilbert is worse than Jane Eyre & Mr Rochester because at least Mr Rochester’s funny.
