I just returned from a challenging trip to the Steens Wilderness, though worth every second! As always, when I first hear a whinny & those thundering hooves, my heart does a flip & then the first glimpses of these magnificent horses. I am then in a place of transcendence, another world, it's truly incredible! & to my utter disappointment, I found out while I was there, that the @mypubliclands are planning 2 roundups this summer. ***1- Hog Creek HMA, in July & ***2- South Steens HMA, in August I feel I'm constantly in a state of being heartbroken, for all of the Wildies of the world, & now bullet straight to my already shattered heart, to take away the ones, I feel closest too. -These absolutely selfish, money grubbing, & inhumane, roundups have to stop! What must we do, REALLY, to make it so?!? I would buy that basin in the Steens, or pay what the ranchers pay for their cows to be there, if that's what it takes... There has to be more we can do to help them stay free & stop the BLM! & I do write letters & such... Seems the ones who can stop this madness, don't care to listen...
