I sat there waiting quietly as the day pasted by. He was supposed to be here an hour ago. He’s probably with a different girl, probably having the day of their lives. I got up and made my way out of the building, once I was on the busy sidewalk the world seemed to be as sad as I was. I held back tears in my eyes as I weaved between people. I finally found my turn, which is never really used. But today many people were using it, one was a very rich looking man, and boy was he tall. I could see gold everywhere on him, definitely rich as no one with a normal salary could afford that.
We pasted each other, he looked rough and mean but with a soft side. He seemed to be in a rush as he sped by. I looked back in the direction of the sidewalk, there I spotted a gold ring. I walked over to it, and picked it up with my right hand. It was thick and very expensive looking, it had a name engraved on it. I couldn’t read it from the heavy cursive, but it looked amazing. I spun around to look for the rich guy, but was shocked to see he was long gone.
I ran in his direction, only to come face to face with the crowded sidewalk. I looked both ways trying to see if I could find him in the hoard of people. But alas I couldn’t see anyone even close to him. I let my shoulders drop and turned around, now back on route to my apartment. I walked by people who gave me weird looks as my head was hung low. I never noticed I was standing in front of my apartment’s door, until I heard him and some other woman laugh.
The tears I had forgotten soon came back, them cascading down my cheeks like a waterfall. I backed up and ran down all the flights of stairs and out into the now cold air, as night was setting in. I walked around the city, wiping off any of my tears. As I walked in the somewhat desolate sidewalk, but some how I bumped into someone. Causing me to fall over, I got up and looked up at the man. He was buff and very kind looking.
“I’m so sorry! I wasn’t looking at where I was going! I’m so sorry!” I said as I looked away as tears still spilled from my eyes.
“It’s fine. I wasn’t watching either,… why are you crying sir? Did I hurt you?” he asked surprised, placing his hands on my shoulders.
“No, it’s just personal stuff. Stuff I can’t handle because I’m too forgiving and a push over. None of it is your fault,” I sighed wiping away more tears.
“Well why don’t you come with me? You do what you want, when you want. And you can stay as long as you like,” he smiled taking me into a hug. I smiled back returning the hug.
“Thank you…?”
“Evan.”
“Thank you Evan, I’m Brock,” I said as we stepped away from each other.
“Well, nice to met you Brock. And it’s nothing, and my friends are at my place. Pay them no heed, they’re just idiots,” Evan laughed rubbing the back of his neck. I laughed in response, and followed him as he began his way home. We walked in a comfortable silence, I took in anything I could. The streets and buildings that we passed. We walked in the now night air for another ten minutes until we came upon a very fancy apartment complex. He walked in I followed close behind, we looked poor compared to the people in the lobby. Evan walked towards the stairs, I was followed with angry stares not that far behind.
We walked up thirteen flights of stairs, and the bottoms of my feet killed me. He went to the door at the end of the hallway, unlocked it and stepped in, and held the door open for me. I stepped in and looked around, Evan’s friends could be heard chatting around the corner. I walked forward taking off my very cheep sweatshirt.
“Evan is that you? Why did you take such a long walk?” one man yelled as I entered the living room, Evan not that far behind.
“No but we have a guest. So be a gentleman Marcel,” Evan laughed as he got two chairs from the kitchen.
I took my seat, a seat in the large circle of guys. My eyes scanned over them and landed on the man from before.
“Evan, your such a push over. What ever he told you is a complete lie,” Marcel said, I wasn’t even paying attention as I dug into my jean pockets. Pulling out the tall man’s ring.
I quickly got up and handed him the ring, “I believe you lost this. It seems impor-”
I was cut off by him hugging me tightly. I did push him back and he stayed, “Thank you. So shut the fuck up Marcel.”
“Okay, okay. All of this for a stupid ring,” Marcel shot back.
“It’s not any old ring, it’s my mom’s. It’s very important to me. It fell out of my pocket on my way here. So such your mouth! And thank you,” he smiled as I sat back down, Marcel huffed and looked away.
“So what happened and stuff, like I know it was personal but I’m here to help, and I’m sure Tyler is in your debt,” Evan smiled I just sight, Marcel huffed in anger.
“Well my boyfriend has been cheating on me, and I’ve let him. I’m such a push over, he gets away with everything. I want it to be all over, it’s all my fault, so need to get involved,” I smiled holding back blinding tears. I soon felt a hand begin to rub my back.
“How long have you let him cheat on you?” it was Tyler.
“A long time,” I sniffled, I hated him yet I don’t. I was brought into Tyler’s arms, I laid there in comfort, “ Can’t believe that he could do that.”
“Shh, is there anything that he is going to be doing. Like a party or something?” Tyler asked holding me tight.
“Yeah, this really fancy party tomorrow night, why?” I answered.
“Will first off, you guys are over, and we can crush him during the party. He is not going to have a good time, that I know for sure,” Tyler laughed, I instantly caught onto the plan.
~~~~~~~~~~
I held onto Tyler as we danced together, my ex was in the background watching in anger. I rested my head against Tyler’s chest, his hand held my closer to him. I could see my ex make his way up to us, my grip on Tyler was tightened. Once we stopped dancing I could feel his angry stare, Tyler could feel it too. I laughed a small bit at the dumbest thing that came out of Tyler’s mouth, after that I was dragged outside by my ex. He yelled and hit me, Tyler hit him with a bat. The rest of the guys soon came by and did what they wanted to do to him. I was now apart of the biggest gang in the city, and my once alive ex was now a bleeding pulp. Yet I had no blood on my tux, neither did Tyler. He grabbed my hand and led me inside, we danced the night away.
“I love you Brock” Tyler said as his kissed my lips.
“I love you too,” I responded breaking the kiss and rested my head on his chest once again.
