Mother's Day At Fynn (Mother's Day FFII Drabble)
The curtains were suddenly flung open, and Maria, Firion, and Guy all groaned as the light flooded their rooms. They were usually up by now, but their parents were sick, so they had to do more around their house while still training and studying. Besides, it was a Sunday, so they could take a break.
So why was Leon up already?
"Go to bed, Leon," Firion grumbled as he gave a tired glare to his older brother, who looked just as tired as they did. "It's the weekend. We don't have to wake up yet."
Stretching a bit, Leon ignored his whining before casually stating, "It's Mother's Day, you know."
That immediately woke the other three up. How could they forget what today was?! Their mother was sick now, but she always took care of them as they grew up! She deserved a gift!
Now, what said gift would be was a mystery since they had no time to buy something.
"I have an idea," Maria finally said, gathering her brothers and assigning orders before they all split up and went to do their jobs.
"I wonder what they're up to," their mother told their father about an hour or two later. Their children had been relatively quiet aside from a few conversations and the door being opened and closed a few times. It wasn't normal for them to be so silent unless they were focused on something, and being so focused on something this early on an off day was definitely strange and suspicious.
"Maybe they're getting ready for you, dear," her husband responded, earning a giggle from his wife.
Sure enough, the four teenagers soon entered the room with food for both of them, flowers in a vase, and a box with small candies in it. They all smiled as their parents inspected their work with awe.
"How-?" their mother started before Firion began explaining.
"Maria and I made the food and found the candy, Guy found the flowers, and Leon put it together. We wanted to surprise you."
Their mother smiled sweetly and laughed happily at their gift. "You succeeded in surprising me. Thank you, all of you. This is so nice of you. I'm so blessed to have such great children."
