"And is this word from reliable source?" The agent raised a skeptical brow. It was not rare to receive rumors from mysterious informants, but he filtered these carefully, cross-examining with the aid of his various little birds. He trusted his birds, whom he kept well in touch and knew clearly their identities--and the very notion of this rumor seemed almost ludicrous. 

From what backing could Vayne garner? He required much power, power in political ranking as well as military. How could he amass such without any position within Archadia? Larsa would not allow for it, Al-Cid was sure. The majority of Ivalice was led to believe that Vayne had perished, and even Al-Cid himself had believed such for some time. And of the judges in position within Archadia now; Gabranth, Drace, Zargabaath, and yes even Balthier--not one of them would support Vayne's resurgence. 

The Rozarrian shook his head. He would keep his ear open to the call of his birds.

ooc: //Sorta ducks.  Weh, I suck at these things because I always wonder where to begin. Anyhoot, I think I want to start off saying how adorable your artwork is? Yes, I stalk it whenever I see it around and it's just wonderful ok? Keep up the great work. I also stalk both your muses (Well I think I only know 2 of your muses..or maybe 3? Red too?) and even though we only interact through one of those, I still love what we have. Even though it's slow-going, maybe one day it'll develop to have some dramatic plot like a lot of my threads turn out to have and then I just cry because it's mostly angst and I need something sorta happy to compensate for all the heartache I receive.

To find the young Solidor in good health and good spirits did much to lift his own. He was concerned for the young emperor, not having heard much nor seen much of him in far too long, and he knew too well the stress of upholding such a high position, much less one within the Archadian Empire. Though when he looked into the young lord’s eyes, the luster still held. His face showed no hallowing. For that, he thanked the gods.

He took a moment to tuck his glasses into the band of his pants, then rested his hands upon his hips. “An ironic turn, that. I would have met with you much sooner, were it not thanks to a certain loyal hound.” His hand lifted to wave the statement away dismissively. “That matters little. What is important is that you are well, and it gives me much relief to see that with my own eyes. So, in that, you have your answer as well.”

Would have met with much sooner? It would seem that his absence had been covered up quite well in this instance. Though perhaps for the best. Had it gotten out the palace had been minus one emperor… Well the outcome could have been less than favourable. Still a thought perhaps best not dwelt upon. Besides that was then and this was now. And just now his attentions were to be kept upon that of the Rozzarian. Yet he could not help but to let out a chuckle. Both to the Judge in question once again being referred to as a hound and to the round about way his own query had been answered. However for there to have been a meeting put into place, then something was perhaps amiss. Something Al-Cid needed to speak with Larsa personally. It was to this that the smile faded but a little from the little Lord’s expression. “Is something the matter?”

Always astute, the little lordling was. Al-Cid's smile did not fade at all, but rather widened. This was the emperor that Archadia needed and deserved. It was ill fortune that caused him to take the position in such early years, but perhaps it was better this way. The young lad had pure ideals and good-natured intentions, unlike those of older noble blood.

Though there were several matters that could have been discussed on the political front; the Rozarrian mercenaries acting of their own accord, for example, or perhaps establishing formal and protected trade routes between Empires to build relations of trust. That was neither here nor there--Al-Cid had in fact dropped in to Archades for personal affairs rather than diplomatic ones, though certain affairs would remain unknown to Larsa.

"Nay, my visit comes mostly without the dryness of politics. Truth be told, I only wished to speak on terms of friendship rather than allies, you understand?" He smiled warmly, implying that the emperor had been missed. Having said that, there was a certain affair that merged personal and political matters.

"Have you heard of a certain queendom of Fynn, my little emperor?"
