love the difference in the two of them in that hug robby is like fully wrapping around him eyes closed initiating it and abbot is like one armed eyes open looking at the er. it's also interesting to me to consider how much they've actually worked together because it seems like they're two ships kinda passing in the night for the most part but it would be fun if we got hints that maybe they used to work together on the same shift or were interns together <3

that moment so beautifully illustrates so much about their relationship to me but especially 1) how genuinely relieved and grateful robby is to see abbot 2) the closeness of their relationship—we haven't seen robby hug anybody else all day including jake heather and dana with all of whom it would make sense if he initiated physical contact 3) abbot's immense amount of focus entering into the early stages of managing the crisis while still taking the second to give comfort (even with the awkward angle of the hug robby is still the first one to pull away) and 4) that there's way more below the surface wrt their relationship; iirc there was press which described abbot as robby's former rival which. i wanna know THAT back story but! even with the brief glimpses we get to see it's clear that their relationship is one of the closest on the show and we need moooooooore next season

if i had a nickel for every time noah wyle played a doctor with commitment issues who can't sustain a lasting relationship i'd have two nickels!!! i still maintain the pitt needs to bring kellie martin on as one of his exes since he's not beating the allegations anyway

each subsequent season of the pitt should feature two to three actors who have also appeared on ER just for fun <3 but literally i love that this is noah wyle's television niche

also love the benton/carter domsub thought cause i saw people say abbot was soft domming him and it's like noah wyle i love your energy

not only would kellie martin showing up on the pitt be fantastic as is it would also righteously piss off the crichton estate which would admittedly be very funny so i am very pro-this all around

noah wyle knows his niche is on the verge ER doctors who get soft dommed by their extremely hot male coworkers and we have to thank him for knowing his character type

i don't even watch the pitt but i am emotionally invested from gifs alone!!! also now i can't unsee the rabbit thing and also let's hope its' not a chekhov's comment about jumping off the roof

major thanks to shawn hatosy for having incredibly endearing rabbit-like microexpressions which i am so fond of (also i won't spoil anything related to the roof but the headcanon of the rabbit thing has nothing to do with it in my mind beyond abbot's facial expressions)
