Hello! I am curious how you do all our gray scaling in your comic pages? Like where Link catches Zelda when she stumbles in the "not again" piece, all the values are very clear despite not being colored. Just curious, and thank you for your time🙏
hi! oh you mean "not this time" hha sure, i'll explain a as long as i can
i think for the fundamental we should understand the grayscale, i remember i was taught to create 12 palette of grayscale because it's enough to see the difference between colors from light to the darkerst.
however in my method i always use only 3 palettes for the beginning the ligt, middle, and darkest.
here's my way to color it with minimalist explanation
since we use my manga's drawing as study i should also mention this
where sometimes you add the darkest palette to the area where there is very little light. No need to apply to many area.
I always applied this details mostly when i draw comics.
if you still confused how to decide darker than the light or lighter than the dark you can edit colored image and make it grayscale
pick this and that with eyedropper. For reference i suggest you to read mangas, i think Yana Toboso and Yusuke Murata's manga has a good value examples!
If everyone have references or want to add something i'll appreciate it!
