Unforgettable day in Peninsula Mitre with this cliff that appeared very accessible. Two thirds of the way up, it became virtually vertical slippery gravel with only a few little scrubby plants...going back down wasn’t even a remote option. The backpack had just been filled to 30+kg with provisions so gravity was working against me too. With only 2 trekking poles to use as anchors, if possible, my only exit route was to launch myself 2 metres to my left into hopefully more stable scrub...entailing letting go of the handhold I had. One miss-grab and I’d be broken on the beach. After a couple of false starts, I did it! The final section was a rapid and adrenaline-fueled scramble to the top of what the gps told me was a 63m ascent!! It was another mental victory on my 60-day, 460km trek. . . . #peninsulamitre #tierradelfuego #wildtrekking #trekkingargentina #remotetrekking #bahiaguirre #expeditiontraining #mentalchallenges #faceyourfears #followyourdreams #trekexpedevac #cliffscrambling (at Bahía Aguirre) https://www.instagram.com/p/B3pNK6ogzEh/?igshid=zmcq8f9ae6b7
