Honey has received a normal cardboard shipping box with a Texas return address but inside its packed with treats padded with multicolored and glittery tissue paper. There's a small jar of candied cherries, a box of petit fours, half a dozen macarons, an assortment of Asian snacks and candies, three different flavors of Ramune soda, a bag of fresh lychees, and a manicure gift kit with six tiny bottles of nail polish and several sheets of nail stickers and gems.
There's also a note with a phone number and a message: it's not much but I hope it makes you smile. Ring if you need anything 🐾
Jules' van pulling up makes Honey look up from where she's laying in the grass, holding a hand up to block her eyes from the shade as he gets out and takes out a package. The fact it comes from Texas makes Honey a bit nervous at first glance, but she doesn't recognize the address , so she cautiously opens the package once he hands it over, holding it on her lap. As she pulls each item out, her lip quivers, taking a shaky breath to calm herself back down.
It really is very sweet.
She reaches up to rub her eye carefully, sniffing as she reads the note, taking the time to put in the contact information in her phone before tucking it into her pocket. She'll share this with her friends, nodding to Jules when he offers to go get the others.
Honey gives a weak half smile as she looks over to Nata, "I think I'm an adoption magnet, mama."
