Wilke: Ya know, I've never fought for someone so hard in my life. I finally get her and I'm sent away. Daphne: C'mon. You're gonna forget all about me. 2 weeks at that fancy boarding school and it'll be like, 'Daphne who?' Wilke: You are the one who's going to forget about me. Daphne: *jokingly* Yeah, probably Wilke: You are. You're gonna go on to..I don't know,run some four star restaurant and marry this perfect guy and have like six perfect little kids. And I'll be disowned by my family and forced to trade all my good looks to become a kept man. Daphne: Do you really think that about yourself? That that's all you are? Wilke: *sheepish smile* Daphne: Hey, I'm serious. Listen to me. Don't short change yourself

Ok, so yesterday, I was watching Switched At Birth when I realized something-

Wilke and Daphne are like the Puckleberry of that show. Wilke's the cocky "badboy" who fell in love with the good-girl, but instead of Daphne being border-line crazy about Broadway and becoming a star like Rachel, she is deaf. He's never been truly serious about any girlfriend before, he said himself that he's never worked so hard to keep a girl, and just like all the Puckleberry fanfics, he's done his fair share of 'fucking up' and has admitted to it.

Anyways, the parallels to them are endless, but it really hit me how much they are like Puckleberry in a scene towards the end of the finale last night when they were talking about their future now that Wilke has been sent off to boarding school. Wilke's talking about how annoying it is that he's worked so hard for Daphne, and now that he's finally got her, he's being sent away. Then, the following dialogue happens:

Wilke: You're gonna go on to...I don't know... run some four-star restaurant. Marry some perfect guy. Have like 6 perfect kids. And I'll be disowned by my family and forced to trade on my looks to become a kept man.

Daphne: Do you really think that about yourself? That that's all you are? Hey I'm serious, listen to me. Don't short-change yourself.

Wilke: C'mere. *kisses her*

I mean, that scene basically SCREAMED Puckleberry to me. It was the Puckleberry scene I had always hoped for from Glee, but never got- one where Puck calls himself a Lima Loser to Rachel and Rachel tells Puck she believes in him and he should believe in himself too. I seriously LOVE Wilke and Daphne together, even before I realized the similarities between them and my OTP. But of course, just like with Puckleberry, right when things are starting to get perfect and good for these two, ABC Family is putting an end to their relationship by sending Wilke off to boarding school. WHY?!?! Why must I always ship the perfect couples that are doomed to end??? :'( Well at least SAB was willing to give my OTP of their show a chance, and at least I got my Puckleberry through this perfect couple. 

I guess I'll just always be shipping these perfect bad-boy/good-girl couples that were never meant to be. I mean, aside from Puckleberry and Wilkne (idek what their ship name would be..), on Friends, I ship Joey and Rachel. I mean, JOEY AND RACHEL!! How I manage to ship them over Rachel/Ross, I will never know, but I just do. And then on Pretty Little Liars, there's Toby/Spencer, and, of course, I cannot simply go with the crowd with Ezria, I have to ships Jason/Aria. -___- What is wrong with me?? The only bad-boy/good-girl pairing I ship that actually turned out to be endgame is Lily/James from Harry Potter. I guess I'm just doomed to love Puckleberry anywhere I can get it, but will never truly have the great joy of watching my Puckleberry-esque pairing become endgame :(

I’m going to miss this character so much. He brought a lightness to “Switched at Birth” that sometimes it lacks with all the drama. I really hope the PTB bring him back one day and soon.

Damn it! Why does he have to leave the show? He's been one of my favorite male characters since Switched at Birth began and I love, love, love him and Daphne together. This really sucks. 

Excuse me... I have to curl up in a ball and cry right now.
