After her grandmother, Mama Belle (Tina Lifford), turns away her usual gift delivery, expecting “presence over presents,” jet-setting executive Jazmin (Olivia Washington) heads uptown to Harlem for a quick visit. However, when Mama Belle is injured, Jazmin agrees to stay in the neighborhood and take over co-chairing their block’s annual Christmas Jamboree with her old best friend Caleb (Will Adams). A successful corporate fixer, Jazmin expects the job to be easy but quickly finds that she has a lot to learn about the community and her heart.

caption: 日本にロケする予定の『三浦按針』打ち合わせのため、去る三月来日したピーター・オトゥールは、帰途、ハリウッドに飛んで、続く新作『理由』の製作発表記者会見に出席した。

この『理由』は、1854年のクリミア戦役で、少数よくロシアの大軍を破ったイギリス竜騎兵の活躍を描くもので、共演はローレンス・ハーヴェイ（写真の右の人物）が決定している。

調べてみました。そして分かったことは、この写真は、O'Tooleが"Will Adams"の撮影を終えたあと、次回作としてLaurence Harveyとの共演でCrimean War中の出来事を題材に"The Reason Why"を製作することになり、そのためのpress conferenceをBeverly Hills Hotelで行った。その時の出席者は、O'Toole, Harveyのほか、Joseph Edward Levine (executive producer on “Will Adams”)のプロダクションの役員たちなど。そしてまた、O'TooleはJules Buckと共にDalton Trumboとの会合も設けている。つまり、脚本はTrumboの予定だったということでしょうか。 監督には、"Will Adams"と “The Reason Why"のどちらにもJohn Hustonが希望されていたそうです。

そのどちらもが実現に至らなかったのは本当に残念に思います。
