Will Buckley has become Sunderland's seventh summer signing for an undisclosed fee from Brighton on a three year deal, reuniting with his former boss Gus Poyet.

And that's the Bottom Line cause Sean Dyche says so.....

Here we are a week into the reign of new Watford Manager, Sean Dyche and it must be said that on the message boards, forums and social networking sites people are seeming a little bit more positive than they were a couple of weeks ago after the sales of Will Buckley and Danny Graham and the departures of Chief Executive Julian Winter and Manager Malky Mackay to Cardiff City.

The feeling (for those of you who don't follow Watford) after the four aforementioned departures a few weeks ago was general negativity about the future of the club, the impending relegation of the club in the coming season, and that new Chairman Laurence Bassini was intending to sell of all the clubs top assets to line his own pockets.

However, since the appointment of Dyche, the signing of Left Midfielder Craig Forsyth and the potential arrival of new Assistant Manager and Dychey's best mate from Portsmouth, Ian Woan there has been a slightly more positive outlook from Hornets Fans.

A lot has been talked about, of the approximate £5.5million being raised by the club through Saracens staying at the Vic for another season, Bucko and DG's sales, as well as the 15 per cent of the Ashley Young money over £9.65 million and Malky's compensation from Cardiff. However I can only see 20-30% of this money used on new players and increasing the wage budget.

There are other expenses that the new board have to deal with, including the cost of running the academy, re-laying the pitch (if this does indeed happen at the end of the season), filling in the South West Corner, paying back the money they borrowed to takeover the club and eventually knocking down the East Stand and building a new Stand to name a few things. Some of these things will use up most of the money that has been raised IMO.

I still believe that there may be 1 or 2 more sales of players before the start of the season. It wouldn't surprise me to see Scott Loach leave if Ipswich make a decent bid given the glowing way he has talked about his childhood recollections of following the Tractor Boys recently. They will have money to spend after Connor Wickham's Departure to Sunderland and I wouldn't surprised to see them make a bid. Will Taylor, Cowie and Eustace stay too, only time will tell?

As far as my opinion of the departures. I didn't know much about Julian Winter but everyone seems to rate the guy very highly which is rare for a footballing Chief Exec. Will Buckley was one of those players who was either very good or very bad for us in my opinion. Perhaps the lack of consistency was a reason why Malky didn't pick him for more games. He obviously felt he'd get more opportunity for the Seagulls.

Danny Graham to me was a quality player, who really showed what he was all about last season. There were many doubters during his first season after his barren patch where I think he went two to three months without scoring. However, for me his goal against West Brom in the 2009-10 season was one of the best goals i'd seen for many years at the Vic by a Watford player. He will be missed and people forget about how many he set up for Sordell last season too.

Malky may have been Manager for two seasons where we ended up in Mid-table spots but there were lots of positives during his run as manager. Yes there were times when I was frustrated by the 11 man ultra-defensive corner, the continued use of Danny Drinkwater last season and the late substitutions but these were only minor gripes. Some of the Football in my view under Mackay was the most exciting since Adie Boothroyds first season in charge.

There was the 7 game unbeaten run, the 6-1 against Millwall, the bringing back of Heidar Helguson, The loan signings of Mutch, Lansbury, Cleverley and Andrew Taylor, The introduction of youth players into the Watford First Team including Lee Hodson (who played 1 game under Rodgers), Marvin Sordell, Matty Whichelow, Michael Bryan, and Adam Thompson amongst others.

Now as far as Dychey goes, he's got all his coaching badges and was assistant to Malky. He's worked with the youth at the club so he should have a good idea about who to use and when. I do feel that it will be a lot tougher in the Championship this season given the quality of the teams that have gone up from league 1 and come down from the Premiership.

I just hope Dychey can prove the doubters wrong and open a 6 pack of whoop ass on some of the Championship teams next season!
