Desertscape Int'l Film Festival: STORM Movie Review
#Desertscape Int'l Film Festival Recap #stormshortfilm Movie Review: "Will Kindrick's 'Storm' is a sobering yet hopeful look at love in the digital age."

Perhaps one of the most sobering and isolating feelings can be the seeking of someone to end that isolation with–that is, the search for love. Will Kindrick’s Storm is a lightning-fast look at what love is and why this most human emotion can never quite be replicated by simulation or algorithm.

Postino "I Love It" (dir. Will Kindrick)
This adorable video follows two kids in furry reindeer pajamas on a kaleidoscopic journey. Director Will Kindrick mashes up colorful animations with the live-action footage, which kindof makes it like the G-rated version of Megaforce's "The Greeks" video.

Trends are a merciless thing. Hit them when they are huge and you are a genius of the zeitgeist. Hit them late and people are so burned out on seeing the same old thing and no matter how much heart you put into it, it is a tired turn off.
2 years ago every video had to have someone in an animal costume. It was such a cheap, easy to execute and popular trend, so EVERYONE did it till it burned out hard. Last year, there were a lot of videos of kids lip synching songs, most notably the Danny Brown video that this is impressively derivative of is hugely popular example of the trend.
If this video took place at a sporting event, it would combine the 3 most played out trends of the last few years. Sadly, for you competitions, it does not.
That said, a charismatic little girl is a charismatic little girl. Maybe if they didn't put her in a costume circa 2010 or had her do something more than just lip synching it could have been awesome. As is, it is what it is, is.
