Can someone please explain the end of the clockmakers daughter to me? Who dies? I’m so freakin confused, and google is useless. Please help.

Will was having a bad day. He suffered from chronic pain ever since his cancer treatments ended, despite being NED for three and a half years now. Even so, he still wore only long sleeves to hide the chunks of missing skin and scars on his arm. He still suffered from learning deficiencies. Above all, he suffered chronic and at times debilitating pain for which no medicine was prescribed due to his youth. He also constantly had to have his organ function monitored. Needless to say he had always been a realist. Add to that the fact that right when he got sick his parents had been killed and his life uprooted and you had the perfect makings of a very sad, very realistic and pessimistic boy. The only person who was often able to bring out a softer, happier side of him (a side not many had seen since he was 8 and cancer-free) was his little sister Rae and SOMETIMES his adoptive dads. Otherwise, Will often had a serious expression on his face and talked very little.

This was no exception. While everyone else laughed and joked around, enjoying the first year festivities,  Will kept to himself at the end of the table, his sketchpad out and a pencil in hand. If electronics worked at Hogwarts, he would have had his earbuds in, ignoring the world. Unfortunately, they did not and so Will was simply trying to ignore the laughter and noise around him and focus on what he was drawing, a rather dark scene as usual. He liked to try to sketch his pain in a tangible, manifestation when he was in pain. It was a way of dealing with it.

How it's effective:  This post is effective in a few different ways.  For one, people want to share post like this.  Whether it's a place they've been or a place they hope to visit, the reach of this is increased because of the value of sharing it.  The real magic of this, however, is that it purposely doesn't tell you where this place is located in the world.  It makes you click on the link, which leads to their website and creates more and more traffic.  

What it says about the company:  This post lets people know that this company is all about finding the most beautiful spots in the world, and then helping you get to them.  It encourages exploration, and then offers you their services for helping you achieve your dream destination.  

Why we love it: To put it simply, this post does just about everything it should.  It's not overbearingly self-promoting, and at the VERY least, gives you a fun picture to look at.  Even if you don't have a strong desire to go hiking (although it's pretty safe to say that the demographic of their followers does), you can still enjoy this for what it is; a beautiful mountain landscape.  This post is a celebration of how beautiful the world is, and encourages people to go do something they love while still benefiting the company, which is exactly why we love it.
