smitty chain.
i could write an entire dissertation about how insane seeing his chain makes me. like when it's just peaking through under a shirt i feel like a victorian man seeing a lady's ankle for the first time. something about it is so feminizing even though it's probably the most masculine piece you could think of, it's like the chain makes his hair extra soft and his eyelashes extra long. but also there's obviously the whole catholic guilt of it all. does the chain always stay on? what does mack think about the chain? does taking it off mean something to him? has it ever broken? there are yet mysteries in the universe.
