2017 is the 70th anniversary of the 228 massacre which  took place in 1947 and the 30th anniversary of the launch of the peace and justice redress movement in 1987.  The Tainan city government brought people together from the spheres of education, culture and history, for an expansive range of this 70th anniversary memorial events, including an exhibition of art, photographs and poetry relating to Tainan victims such as Tang De-Jhang and Wang Yu-lin. 2017-02-18

William Lai with the actor Takao Osawa honor Japan engineer Yoichi Hatta.

It was held at the Yoichi Hatta Memorial Park(八田與一紀念園區) at the Wushanto Reservoir (烏山頭水庫), one of the projects designed and built by Yoichi Hatta during his 32 years of service in Taiwan from 1910 to 1942.
