Good vibes from my cat macbeth!
Thank you. I love you Macbeth! (I also have a Shakespearean kitty named Juliet ❤️)
Hey uh weird question, but any idea what effect hrt (estrogen specifically) would have on type one diabetes? All the info I've found has been on estro being a way to help women with type two, and I'm a little scared to bring it up with my Endo bc I'm still not 100% sure that's the way I want to go, and it feels like talking to a doctor about it is a big step.
in general, as you’ve found, estrogen is seen as a stabilizer to blood sugars and glucose metabolism, HOWEVER, people with T1D tend NOT to show this link. there aren’t a lot of great studies done with trans people and T1D because there just aren’t enough Trans people with T1D out there, but based on info about cis people going through first puberty, estrogen can potentially destabilize a stable routine; even searching for studies about HRT in adults shows that Cochrane reviews request more studies to be done (only one study ever looked at the effects of estrogen HRT on menopausal women, but they do conclude that people in menopause do experience higher blood sugar swings also).
Be prepared for some level of destabilization and know that you might need to check and be prepared for tighter measures to control sugar swings: this might be especially relevant if you’re on a method that produces wider variations in hormone levels through the course of a day/week. Good luck, i hear you about it being hard to take that big step. Mod mayhem
@willifolts HEY,,,, LISTEN,,,,, ITS CALLED CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
@willifolts He’s all yours! Send us an ask from the blog once you make it.
Is there any way to say "Hey can I fill in whoever opens up next?"
No not really. It’s mostly a “first come, first served” kind of thing to give everyone a fair chance.
TY for relogging the warrior gifs!!! I binge watched that entire sore back when season 2 came out and had no idea season three has started. Can’t wait to get back into that obsession.
Awesome! So glad you love that show too. More people should watch it so it gets renewed.
Hello! So I kinda just bombed my first major college audition largely due to nerves, and I was wondering if you had any tips on calming/focusing? I've got another audition next weekend that I really want to go better. (Also I found that I was thrown off by how my voice sounded in the room the audition was in. Very echoey, made me second guess myself. Any tips on that?)
My masterpost has a whole section on nerves and confidence and all that good stuff if you want to check that out!
As for your second question--this is why I teach singing based on feeling rather than sound. I have had this happen so many times, where the acoustics of a room throw me off, and so when that happens, I need to just focus in on my technique and what I know things should feel like rather than what they should sound like. Try to turn off your ears as best as possible.
