will ?? and ? allie??? felt so forced to me. i am not here for it, sis. i stan then as best friends that care for each other because they lost the three party to their trio. they are each other's safe space and the person they k n o w will never turn their back on them. you can have that with out having to push a relationship on them.
will ?? that boy right there?? from episode o n e ( 1 ) showed how he was uncomfortable with the idea of being with allie in that way, that he wanted to only be friends. that's why he went after kelly because he truly liked her okay? he was so excited and soft around her because she saw him as a n o r m a l boy. not that foster kid or allie's "boyfriend". kelly was the one that nudged him towards allie merely because he was worried that his best friend was going to die and leave him by himself. thats when he decided to go after allie because kelly t o l d him too.
allie, bless her h e a r t, truly did love will. he was the first person to see her as allie pressman, a girl with a beautiful heart. not allie pressman, cassandra's little sister. she saw him as the boy that let her learn how to be her own person. to not live under her sister's shadow and he pushed her to better herself (( although his ideas and methods may have been wrong )). he was the first boy to show her she was worth it, which as we know can easily cause you to love them a little more than you should. she was jealous because of kelly, i just don't think it was purely because will was pursuing her romantically. her sister was choosing kelly over her and now her best friend was too. that is the ultimate feeling of hurt and betrayal because someone else is ""replacing"" her position in their eyes. eventually, we see allie start to overcome it as she starts to understand will doesn't feel that way and lets kelly be a good influence on him. she u n d e r s t a n d s that him being her better half was as a best friend, not boyfriend.
this could have been such a beautiful way to show that relationships? no matter how intimate they seem, can be totally platonic. that you can love some one so much, consider them home and a safe space. that sometimes all you need is your best friend, not a lover to keep you sane.
i love them both so so much, but? their characters can never develop fully if they keep too close to each other both, intimately and politically.
