They’re happily swing-dancing the night away!!
I made two versions: one with shadows and one flat color!
Thank you again for the drawing yesterday, and I had another bad day, so I decided to return the favor by drawing you something!!
I hope you like it!!
Oh and this mini-fic that goes with it:
Willow laughs as she is dragged by the queen, “Poppy, poppy, I’m too old for this!”
“You’re only like ten years older than me.” Poppy rolls her eyes, “You’re never too old to go to a swing-party!”
“I don’t think you know what that means, do you?” Willow laughs again, as Poppy beams back.
“Swing dancing of course!”
“Ah, of course.” The slightly sarcastic reply pushes past her lips, as something dawns on her. “Wait, poppy I don’t have a partner!”
“Don’t worry, I have one for you!”
“I’m not dancing with Branch again,” Willow sighs, blowing a strand of her hair from her face. “He’s far too pushy of a dancer-”
“Nonono,” Poppy laughs, “Don’t worry, Branch is gonna dance with me today!” She grins, a tinge of magenta rising to her cheeks. Ahh, that made sense.
“So, who am I dancing with? Please say it’s not a teenager either.”
“Uh-Can’t promise? Age is kinda weird in this situation.”
“What situation-”
“Archer!” Poppy nearly yanks Willow’s arm out of socket as her feet pick up speed, wait-Archer? Oh nonononononono-
“Poppy,” Archer smiles, Willow feels her cheeks darken as heat rises to them. Yeah, okay, she found him a little attractive--he did save their village after all! (and almost ruined it too? But ignoring that part).
“I found you someone to dance with!” She beams, gesturing from Archer to willow. “This is Willow Everglade, she loves swing dancing.”
“Hi.” Willow smiles, her hair falling back in place over her left eye, and he beams at her. Archer holds out his hand, offering her a handshake.
“Archer, It’s nice to meet you.” He says as she takes his hand. Willow notices poppy slowly backing away to go meet up with Branch.
“Pleasure’s all mine, but I must warn you,” Willow snickers, “I’m a pretty good swing dancer, but don’t expect me to be able to go non-stop like poppy. I’m quite a bit older than her after all.”
“How much older?” He raises an eyebrow. “Cause I honestly thought you were younger than her.” A hand hits his shoulder.
“Don’t lie about things like that,” Willow laughs, and he laughs too,
“I’m not lying!” Archer grins, “I’m being serious!”
“I’m 32,” She answers him with a slight smirk, and his face lights up with a dark blush.
“Really?” He mutters, “You’re like 10 years older than me.”
“Ugh, don’t say that now I feel really old.”
“What?! No!” Archer says a bit too fast, clearing his throat suddenly he glances away. “I mean, you’re not that old at all. You’re actually quite beautiful.”
“Charmer.” Willow laughs, noticing the music starts, she looks at him. Willow had no issue taking the initiative, but as she turns she notices he’s already holding out his hand.
“May I have this dance?” Archer asks, smiling at her, and she smirks a bit.
“Depends, think you can keep up?”
“I’ve never really danced like this before, so, no?” He nervously chuckles, and she places her hand in his.
“Suppose I ought to show you how then.” Willow smiles, and he finds himself being pulled onto the dance floor, with a large grin spreading across his lips.
So I’m getting back into Trolls, and I have made an official OC and not a trollsona, so uh yeah.
This is Willow Everglade, she is a forest troll, and she’s really good at inventing things! She admires Branch’s different beast traps, but believes that he could put his talent to use with something more fun! Like creating better hug bracelets! Or making a better slide to get down from their pods!
Willow also enjoys sleepovers and night skies! She loves to go to Raves, and she seems to enjoy the darkness more than the daytime. She sleeps in as late as she can, until the morning song starts, in which she will happily provide back up vocals like most. She is a tenor-alto and loves to sing Art-Pop music (think Royals by Lorde, or even Somebody that I used to know by Goyte)!
I’m thinking of doing a bit of a fanfic, where I explore my own ideas of the types of trolls, and what the world is like outside of the village we’ve come to know and love, and at the center of that would be Willow! I’m not sure if I will end up writing this but if you’d like to read that sort of thing, let me know! (And no, the snack pack would not be forgotten in this story haha) So, I hope you enjoyed getting to know Willow!
“Poppy, why exactly am I dressing up like Archer?” Willow says as the hair gel was applied generously, attempting to get her hair to stick up in an almost mohawk like way.
“For the party of course!” Poppy grins, adjusting her own costume of Branch a bit.
“You didn’t even tell me what this party is-” Suddenly willow grabs poppy’s hand. “Are you sure I can’t leave my hair down?”
“No one’s going to notice.” Poppy smiles, “Its been 21 years, trust me, that scar of yours is nearly invisaaaaaa-” Poppy squints a bit at the other troll, “-aaaaaaaaah right, you can’t see out of that eye can you?”
“Nope. It’s uh stuck like this.” Willow shrugs, turning back to the mirror. “Is it really that noticeable?” Willow grimaces a bit, and Poppy smiles at her friend.
“I won’t lie, it is. but that doesn’t mean it’s bad.” Poppy continues with the hair gel, “Honestly, I think it just shows how much more you’ve been through than most of us.” Poppy smiles at her job well done, moving on to apply Willow’s lipstick. “I mean, you were there for the escape from the tree, you remember it.” She sighs, looking at her friend, taking Willow’s hands in her own. “You survived it. You’re strong, and you're a great friend.” Willow smiles a bit, a single tear rolling down her cheek.
“Thank you, Poppy.” Willow smiles, “I love you.”
“I love you too, now let's get you smoking hot for this party!”
An hour later they arrive in the meadow, and that’s when the reason for the costumes becomes apparent to Willow.
“Wait, poppy, You know I’m not dating archer right?!”
“Could’ve fooled me.” She smirks, running off to go find Branch, who was probably not very happy with his current outfit if Willow had to guess. And then she saw Archer, the boy was wearing a crop top and the same style of pants she normally wore; no shoes, and it looked like he had been fidgetting with the necklace he wore. Willow smiles a bit at him, okay. She had to thank poppy later because Archer looked amazing in that top.
“Hi.” Willow says as she approaches him, he jumps a bit and turns around.
“Willow!” He grins, before suddenly seeming to fidget as he realizes he's touching the grass with his bare feet again. “Uh-I-I swear I didn’t know this was an uh-couples-uh party.”
“I can kind of tell,” Willow laughs, her hair partially falling from its sticking straight up position, catching archer’s attention and causing him to look at her. And as she was about to speak again, a small drop of blood caught her attention.
“Archer?” She asks suddenly worried, and his hand flies to cover his nose.
“Uh-Sorry-.” He quickly spits out, “Be right back”, before nearly running off. Willow tilts her head as she suddenly hears branch say something to poppy.
“Did he just get a nosebleed?”
“Yes, he did. Definitely Willow’s fault too.” Poppy responds, giggling all the while.
“Oops,” Willow mutters, unsure what she did to cause it though.
