I find some nudity in horror movies to be gratuitous but with The Wicker Man... yeah, to be honest, if an ultra-rich Victorian man decided to institute cult control over a small community, he probably would decide there has to be a ritual where young women jump around naked in sight of the windows of his house. Yes, a woman raised in a cult environment where women are encouraged to be highly sexualised and nude in ritual contexts from a young age and are told that this connects them to a special power probably would be unnecessarily naked in her room. A different woman, also raised in this cult environment, would probably not have a normal reaction to a near-stranger bursting in on her when she's bathing. It's uncomfortable, but it fits.

Not to be asexual on main but if I went to a Scottish island to investigate a disappearance and had to stay in a pub and the landlord's daughter lowkey hit on me and then sang a song in the next room to me but I was engaged to another woman I would simply not have been tortured by that and I would then go to bed. RIP to Sergeant Howie but I'm built different.

Everyone has that one musical they love that has that one song they hate.

For me it's landlords daughter from the wicker man which strictly speaking isn't really a musical because only a few of the cast sing, the main character has only one song which is then reprised but didn't make it to the soundtrack because there was no full thing and the reprise was played over another song that was necessary to the plot. But the soundtrack is gr8 so let's let it slide, Except landlords daughter, it makes me reeeeeaaaally uncomfortable that these men old enough to be her grandfathers are singing of doing naughty things to her. Even though willow plays it off as cool because she is the best...

In the wicker man, Lindsay kemp is supposedly Britt ekland's father. Lindsay kemp is only 5 years older than Britt... *screaming*
