Cal’Shandarr fact of the day: . Continued from part 1: https://www.facebook.com/thedayspringepic/posts/1747622805511894 . There are different levels to the cave systems. The Crust, The Deep, The Abyss, and The Core. The animals already mentioned live mainly in the crust level which is closest to the surface. An example of a deep dweller would be Morbear. It resembles a large bear but is semi-hairless, completely eyeless, and earless. It eats the bioluminescent kelp that grows in the cave waters. It’s an herbivore but is extremely aggressive towards those intruding in its territory. Then, one last example of cave dwelling animals would be the wingless abysmal wrym. They live in the abyss but come up to the deep to feed on Morbear and other unlucky animals. The people regard the depths of the earth as not only rich in gems, and metals but exotic animals and plant life that cannot be found anywhere but in the dark earthen recesses of Cal’Shandarrs caves. It is not unheard of for the average person to hunt the caves as often as hunting on the surface. Caves are a huge part of everyday life for many. . . .
