will byers ꒰ @willthewisx ꒱ sent : ⤷ [ love letter ] For your Mike to stumble upon or look through my Wills room & find a love letter dedicated to Mike that wasn't ever given to him, maybe more than 1 letter? That's up to you.
Mike could have sworn Will had said the old D&D binders were somewhere there in his room. Had he made it up? Or maybe he just wasn't listening at 100% as per-usual. Either way, it wasn't as if he had expected the night to end like this. Maybe that was the chances when they had to share a living space those days. However this would be some of their last months together, with graduation gone and done, with everyone deciding on what they were going to try and do with their lives now that the hell of Hawkins seemed to finally be over with. So Mike had been determined to find them. Just. . . maybe a little too determined. Because out came this little, plain shoe box. Maybe he should have assumed it was none of his business. There was nothing on the box to make it seem like it was what he was looking for, and yet he sat there on the floor, all long limbs and incoordination. Plucked the lid right off and was met with. . . letters? A frown, a closer look. . . Each one was not in an envelope or anything. Just folded up scraps of paper with a look ranging from years old, to fairly new. That? That should be where Mike stopped. Whatever was in those letters should stay closed up in that shoe box, since clearly it had nothing to do with him, right? Only one singular, slightly unfolded scrap would flash his name right at him, and. . . apparently he was too nosy for his own good. Just one piece of paper unfolded seemed to open a floodgate. Words upon words, dated about a month ago. Nothing crazy, just talking about what they were going through. But more than that were feelings. Declarations and saddened wishes for Will to be able to express himself fully. To give in and to have what he wanted.
Which was. . . apparently Mike. "Holy shit. . ." If only he had been paying attention to the sound of feet pattering up the stairs to the bedroom the younger Byers' boy shared with his brother.
