So this is going to be a non-food related blog post, but oh well. Last week Tim and I happened to be off work the super hot (meaning 88 degrees) day in Portland, so we decided to take the pup and go hiking. Originally I wanted to go somewhere in the gorge, but since Tim had to go pick up his quad from the shop out towards the coast we decided to go to the Tillamook forest.
We parked at the forestry center (which is really fun and interesting on its own) and chose to do one of the few couple mile hikes from there. We settled on Wilson Falls. Neither of us had ever been there and it was pretty short, 2 miles each way. We packed sammies and a box of wine (no judgement) and took off on our way. It was beautiful. The trail follows the Wilson river the entire way, and there was even a spot to stop and throw a stick for Indie. I have never seen such crystal clear aqua blue water in my life. If I hadn't known it was around 45 degrees I probably would have jumped in myself.
We definitely plan on hiking a lot this summer and taking advantage of all the gorgeous scenery Oregon has to offer. I can't wait for warmer weather!
