okay NOW i will give an actual genuine detailed feelings talk under the cut because i wanna actually give actual thoughts on each of these songs:

alright let's go down the list in order

[weezer - you won't get with me tonight] honestly in general i feel like weezer music does have breldon aura to it. but also specifically i really like that this song is kinda comforting but also like they're struggling to get together.......i feel like a common theme i see in a lot of breldon fic is that sort of feeling that brad and sheldon spend ages not actually being/getting together. internalized homophobia moment! i specifically thing the "so pissed at those boys" and the bits about dondo remind me about how it probably feels with how those two (especially sheldon) get ragged on a lot by the populars. i also didn't realize that this was intended to have two characters until i looked it up on genius but i think jonas could be brad and maria could be sheldon

[tv girl - mary moffett] classmates? with some sort of unresolved infatuation? i love this flavor of breldon! again i do think it's really funny that a lot of breldon stuff seems to have these sorts of themes of like "i love him but i feel so fucking lame and embarrassed having these feelings". i just think it's funny

[baby giraffes - rei ii] again another instrumental vibe for what i think breldon sounds like. has a young love sort of vibe to it that i think really fits breldon honestly. also "i'm your giant fucking robot" what if this was about brad and silver shel.......#thinking

[green day - words i might have ate] i'm gonna be deadass i think i barely listened to the song when i named the fic after it. that being said it actually kinda fit the fic better than i thought. i think this is where i can admit i never actually planned on having a happy end to the fic and i wanted it to end kinda with the vibe of this song where they wanted to confess but never had the guts and that they can't really go back and change that. however i got too attached so i wrote a cute epilogue. sorry guys i didn't wanna the longest breldon fic at the time to end poorly. i had a whole thing planned out where it'd end with yearning in their college years or older. but unfortunately i breldoned out too hard and was like nooooo they gotta date in the end i'm gonna cry if they don't. so they do. that was an entirely self-serving last minute decision. also bc i didn't wanna get jumped

[tv girl - the desolation tango] (nodding sagely) wimha chapter 10......but also i love the yearning i love angsty breldon songs. also the song goes hard i think it's one of my faves in terms of pure sound and aura. chilled out even if the lyrics are sad :)

i need to know what they put in the water to make wimha sheldon go from canon sheldon to that. i think sometimes you just get older and calm down but also i think maybe it'd be interesting if junior year there was a big blowout between sheldon and the gang and it caused him to reach enlightenment (realizing you are an asshole)

that or having an unsuccessful crush on a girl for three years really just put a damper on the guy

i'll be honest chat wimha exists on a fucking whim idk what i was doing. basically the first half of the story was released on pure vibe and the second half was me winging a plot because i realize i went into the story with literally no goddamn plot in mind besides a general idea that sheldon and brad never confess to each other and even then by the time wimha ended i just. kinda rescinded that with a half-"confession" and a happy epilogue

also you're only getting this ramble out of me because it's nearly 2am and i SHOULD be asleep for work but unfortunately i have sleep issues </3 old man genes have not kicked in for me yet
