Got Gmail and Windows 8? Get Push email in the Mail app
The little known secret about Gmail is that you can also configure it to act like an Exchange account on your iPhone, which enables PUSH like features and is actually supported by Google as well.
Their name for it is Google Sync, and this also works in the Windows 8 Mail app and any email client that supports adding Exchange accounts.
This presents an advantage over IMAP, and you can enable these features right now by following the steps below.
Open the Windows 8 Mail Client app from the Start screen, if you haven't already setup an account you'll be prompted to do so
Or open the Mail app settings by activating the Charms bar Winkey + C
Select Accounts > Add an account
Select Exchange, you'll be prompted to add your email address and password, instead:
Click Show more details
Add your email address, and in the "Server address" field enter:
m.google.com leave the domain field blank
Add in your username, which is your gmail address, and your password
Tutorial To Turn off Charms Bar and App Switch List in Windows 8
Classic Shell Software is used to switch to the classic style of start menu by turning off all the special features in the display screen such as charms bar. this helps to disable it all but you cannot disable any one of them, either you have to disable them all for that.
Using the Skip Metro Suite you can disable either one like charms bar or there is another option of disabling all the hot corners. This makes it better than the Classic Shell Software.
You can close these Apps in Windows 8 using more than one ways:
Option 1: For touch screen users simply tap and drag from the top all the way to the bottom to minimize the app or move it from the screen.
Option 2: Repeat the same procedure if you are using mouse instead. Click the top of the Application and drag downwards to the bottom. The cursor will start changing when you point cursor to the top.
Option 3: The famous key combination to close Windows programs ALT + F4 still works best in Windows 8 Consumer Preview. There are speculations that this option might be altered by Microsoft in later release.
Option 4: Alt + Ctrl + Del is a must work combination that allows you to stop applications from Task Manager as n earlier Windows versions.
It is important to note that the conventional Windows applications can be closed using the close or minimize buttons since these options are still available for those.
On a personal note, I would rather prefer Microsoft to keep the old way of closing apps instead of the new fancy procedure. It was easier to close, minimize or resize apps at your will before.
