Frank Zappa, Reuben & the Jets Portland, OR Concert Poster

An original cardboard window card advertising Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention playing two shows at the Paramount Northwest theater in Portland, Oregon on Saturday evening, December 9, 1972. Opening act was Reuben & the Jets, a Los Angeles band produced by Zappa, led by Ruben Guevara and who named themselves after a previous Zappa album, Cruising with Ruben & the Jets.

“Poppy” is a 1936 comedy film starring W. C. Fields & Rochelle Hudson. The film was based on a 1923 stage revue of the same name starring Fields & Madge Kennedy. This was the second film version of the revue, following “Sally of the Sawdust“,  the 1925 silent film with Carol Dempster in the title role & had also starred Fields. Fields manages a memorable performance, including these well-known lines spoken to his daughter Poppy (Hudson): "And if we should ever separate, my little plum, I want to give you just one bit of fatherly advice: Never give a sucker an even break!"

A rare window card from original 1916 release. Up for auction with a starting bid of $1500.  Expected to sell between $3000 - $6000.  My only question. Why is Edna's hair dark?
