Ugh, a cardinal has nested too close to my parent’s window and her husband thinks his own reflection is a threat and is attacking it over and over. Because it’s a defending the nest thing, window decals to scare them off and other typical stuff doesn’t work and he’ll think any shape on the window is worth attacking. I told my parents to try shiny things (like strings of beads or crumpled aluminium foil) in the window to try and disrupt the reflection. The only way to make it stop completely is covering the outside of the window but they understandably want to see out.
As far as I know he's fine and maybe we can leave it but this is the situation:
Featuring the pile of stuff my mother has been adding to the wall as politics starts getting more and more absurd. Oddly enough she is actually slightly homophobic but I guess it's easier when it's a political point rather than her own son.
[Video description: A living room window with a tree outside. A cardinal is sitting in the tree and flies aggressively into the window with a glass thunk noise before it flies off out of view of the window. The radio can be heard indistrinctly in the background. There is a rainbow quilt hanging with a pride flag and a Canadian flag stuck into the top of it hanging on the wall between windows. The window has brown suede curtains.]
