Did you know that Painted Bunting is a frequent victim of window collisions? That's one reason we're glad that Sen. Cory Booker has introduced the Federal Bird-Safe Buildings Act. Beautiful side-effects: Brian and I hung mylar streamers on our windows the other day -- it's #bird #migration season and this is a great easy way to prevent fatal window collisions. Over a *billion* birds die from #windowcollisions each year, so consider applying strips of bright tape or ribbons, about 4" apart on the outside of the window - or something shiny that blows in the wind where more spacing is ok. If you have large windows that reflect sky or trees or have plants inside, this is especially important.
