Windowless Plane – Astonishing Innovation

People do come across new and latest improvements and innovation with the blessing of technology. You may see everything around you blessed with new and improved innovation every now and then and all these improvements are always considered to be the best ones. When you come across a new innovation you wonder that nothing can be as perfect as it has been currently, but soon after a time span of few days something new comes up leaving the previous launch obsolete.

Technological innovation is observed in every industry, in the same way the most happening launch these days to be heard and observed among the latest innovation is the concept of windowless airplane. Many such people exist in the world who find it difficult to look outside the windows of the plane when reached high in the sky. This new launch of windowless plane might form to be a difficult means of travel for such people. However, for the adventurers it might be something amazing.

This windowless airplane appears to have a transparent sheet around it which allows you to look outside the windows. The feeling of travelling with this amusement is completely un-explainable and yet scary as well. However, the plane apart from being transparent in structure claims to be equipped with screens as well which allow the passengers to have a look of sky with the help of cameras installed outside the plane in the screens to and the outside world depending upon their own settings.

Apart from being a recent innovation with a lot of fun and entertainment this launch proves to be a cheaper one as well in the longer run. The authorities claim that the weight of the airplane would be reduced hence leading to less consumption of fuel and savings. The ride seems to be an exploration of the sky which was a magical dream previously, however, now this proves to be a reality which everyone should at least once enjoy.

Established around  ten years back, Centre for Process Innovation (CPI), a UK based technology innovation centre recently revealed a design for a windowless fuselage. But though it is windowless, it lets you see what is outside the aircraft because the inner portion of the fuselage is a big, continuous OLED touchscreen. This means that you will have the feeling of being inside a cinema rather than an airplane.

This concept was making rounds in the internet sometime back and reports have arrived that the actual testing of the prototype is being carried out by CPI in the UK. The promotional video released by the company on YouTube advertises the product as making the ‘Journey’ more enjoyable. However, not all travellers have agreed to this. Though the video is streamed live, you can only see what is shown on the screen and not what you really want to see. You might not know a few things like how close you are to the ground, what is actually happening outside, or even whether the video on the screen is live or not!

Apart from this, there are various touch screen enabled options that offer different in-flight services, entertainment and a lot more. CPI believes that this fuselage will be a lot thinner, but stronger than the normal ones. This will increase the fuel efficiency of the airplane as well. But most researchers have raised doubts if this could be a real possibility in commercial aircraft, while some of them have given this project a ‘thumbs up’.

Few travel enthusiasts have mentioned that the new windowless fuselage can cause travel sickness for passengers because of the rolling, pitching and yawing motion of the aircraft during flight. This will be projected with more intensity on the screen, which could turn out to be a huge problem for travellers who are prone to air sickness. Though the windowless fuselage seems to be a product right out of a science fiction movie, we have to admit that there are a lot of complications concerning it. While CPI seems confident about this concept going commercial, we must admit that we have a few doubts.

Some internet users have also experienced concerns through photoshop, as this one. However, the idea is really impressive, but the real question is whether it would become a reality. It would certainly be nice to travel in an aircraft with a windowless fuselage, but we would just have to wait and watch!
