There's nothing funnier to me than a company named “Crowdstrike” taking out multiple computers worldwide. Great job, buddy, you sure did.

I cannot stop laughing.
Wanna get rid of all the "bloatware" and AI bullshit on Windows 11?
This is from a guide that a cool IT guy put together for us at work. It has been super helpful in debloating my personal computer, so I wanted to pass along the knowledge for all!
Visit this link https://github.com/LeDragoX/Win-Debloat-Tools and click the green (or blue) <> Code button at the top-right
Select Download ZIP
Download the .zip archive, extract the files into their own folder, and view the new folder. (Extracting to a USB key works well too)
Double-click on the OpenTerminalHere.cmd file to run it. If nothing happens, right-click the file and select Run as administrator. A terminal window will open.
Type this command and press Enter Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Force
Type this command and press Enter .\WinDebloatTools.ps1
After a moment, the System Tweaks window will appear. Click the Apply Tweaks button, top center (the script doesn't show any activity while running, just wait it out)
8. At some point during the process a window may appear informing you that Location Services have been turned off. That’s good, and you almost certainly want that. Click the Got It! button.
9. Click OK at the Process Completed notice, then close the System Tweaks window by clicking the X in the upper right corner.
10. Click Yes at the Do you want to Restart now? prompt.
11. Your Windows 11 installation is now “debloated” and you can stop here. However, the script does not remove a few things that you might want to remove yourself…
Click the Start button > Settings > Apps > Installed apps
Click the three dots icon to the right of each app you want to remove, and select Uninstall.
Uninstall the following apps (rule of thumb: If it prompts you create or log in to your “Microsoft account” then uninstall it):
Camera, Copilot (and anything else with "Copilot" branding), Microsoft ClipChamp, Microsoft News, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft To Do, Movies and TV, Office 365, Outlook (Lookout!), Power Automate, Quick Assist, Windows Clock, Xbox, LinkedIn
Hope this helps!
Windows shouldn't be allowed to send out an update until they are abso-fuckin-lutely sure that it's not going to cause people problems. Every damn computer in our house is currently being fucked over by this newest update.
I'm going to post this as a public service because it gave me trouble for days. If you want to enroll in the Windows 10 Extended Update Program (EUP) to get another year of Windows 10 security updates, I figured out the following:
You need to be logged into a Microsoft account in Windows. (You WILL NOT have to stay logged in indefinitely, but you have to be logged in to do the enrollment thing.)
Before trying to enroll in the EUP, you need to go to Settings > Privacy > Diagnostics & feedback and make sure "Tailored experiences" is turned ON. If it's not, the EUP enrollment will fail and it won't tell you why.
The EUP enrollment link is under Windows Updates. They took their time rolling it out, but if you got the September update, it should appear there now if it hadn't before.
If you try to enroll and the window just disappears without telling you if it's succeeded or failed, you will need to restart Windows or it'll keep doing the same thing.
Once you've successfully enrolled, you can turn OFF "Tailored experiences" and log out of your Microsoft account. (Microsoft is obviously trying to trick people into leaving "Tailored experiences" on and staying logged in order to maximize their data harvesting, but you don't have to, and you shouldn't.)
The latest Windows 11 24H2 Patch Tuesday update is causing SSDs and HDDs to reportedly break with chances of data corruption as well.
Windows Update... What Could Possibly Go Wrong (The Drama 2026)
I am neck deep in device manager and console's guts trying to unbork my bluetooth after the latest windows update and it's like the 89th time I've said "if I can't get this fixed soon I'm just going to take this same amount of effort and switch to Linux."
And then I realized it's like my 89th time saying that.
And now I'm sitting back in my chair and honestly debating nuking this whole beast of metal and turning it into a penguin.
Like, if I can turn a kindle into a gameboy and a windows computer into a machine that can use bluetooth (lol) then surely I can figure out how to make a gaming-friendly linux machine....
...Surely.
Like... yeah, okay, I know those are 100% "famous last words" status.
But also...
(I want to be clear that I don't actually expect linux to have fewer issues or to be a smoother experience. But if I have to to live with jank either way, then I'm at least not going to continue lining the pockets of mega corporations for the privilege.)
