@windows9k and @vacantnookgurgler ig?
the main basis is what you wanna consider is what type of plants you want because just like earth various plants have adapted to various locations. that will determine things like what soil makeup it needs and amount of sunlight
but also at its most generic alternia plants need high radiation. heat is part of that but its moreso they have adapted to the high amount of radiation being pumped onto the surface. im sure some trolls on here might have access to things like bulbs with that kinda wattage but i have a few old ones for seedlings i can toss up. they dont last very long for obv.......reasons!!!
but as far as soil whether it prefers loamy or sandy, alternia has a much more rich soil structure, almost like an intense compost full of rich nutrients. the sand isnt special.
water on alternia also has a lower ph than earth. so acidic. its one of the reasons trolls skin is so thick even after the grub stage, if my samples are anythin to go by.
theres more aggressive plant life and not many ive seen also serve anything interesting like a fruit or a dietary benefit but! they can be beneficial as long as you take into account the plants traditional needs to make sure they dont overpower any earth or alternian crop its nearby. dont put a big parasite/big meat eater next to a tiny plant. ive found its convenient to plant bug eaters around similiar sized plants that produce fruit and veggies that might attract bugs. usually though if im cross planet planting ill make trenches separating the two cause alternian plants tend to be more invasive root wise trying to be greedy and its easier to make sure nothing gets root choked that way.
of course if you have any specific type of plant in mind i can give you more specific info on things like fertilizers to make earth soil come up to par and specific lighting instructions!!! and recommendations!!
