Volunteered at Pride weekend, got burnt, got tipsy and got my body signed by a cute band
in my efforts to google our wee little pride parade/day, because i am trying to decide if i want to go or not, i stumbled across the aptly-named windsor pride, which appears to be a group...they run the actual celebratory stuff, but they work all year round, as well, so i was like HEY, THEY HAVE GROUPS, THIS COULD BE A THING. the thing is, they have like, two trans-related meetings a month, a 50+ group, and euchre night. i don't know how to play euchre, i'm only halfway to 50+, and i'm severely uncomfortable with inserting myself into a trans-specific space, even though it lists "allies" (...and i'm having all these related issues, but y'know) i'm just, not okay with saying that is or should be my space. so...i guess it's not a thing.
Went to the Windsor Pride Parade this morning, and The White Party held downtown last night with friends! It was amazing, I bought a small rainbow flag, painted one on my arm as well, and had a lovely time seeing everyone so happy and accepting of each other. Couldn't really ask for more.
going to Pride tonight, woo~
I've never been, but from what I hear, it's going to be awesome.
Just A Wee Update
I've been spending a lot of the month of August out of town, trying to catch up on all my summer visiting before I have to knuckle-down and get to work in September. I hope I can have at least more prototypes to show you folks by the end of the month.
I made a Link plush for a friend's birthday:
You can have one too, for $30. He will look slightly different though.
I went to the Windsor Pride Festival this year, mostly because I didn't know they had one until this year (and it's been going for twenty). I'm originally from the area, so it was nice to find it. It was a really great time, though I forgot my camera at the house I was staying at so I didn't get any good pictures of the Sunday when it was packed. The venue was pretty small but everyone was really nice and the young people of the crowd all seemed to be folks I could get along with (not to mention were all wearing awesome clothes).
The Lady Gaga Tribute Artist. She had some pretty cool moves, and the "Gaga Swag", as I have dubbed it.
I'm currently in London visiting friends. I have a family reunion, more visiting, and projects to do before school starts again. One more year, then I'll have to get A Real Job /daunting.
Some pictures from Pride last weekend.
Pride was awesome.
And this one guy asked to take a picture of my sign to put on tumblr. :3 :3 :3 :3
