Listen I love myself a ratman and a giant woman dynamic. Throw in a bit of looking like you dead parents into it, and we got a win!

Also minor hc dump about WW Link's Parents. My fav hc is that Link's mother was a decedent of Malon. Why look at Grandma's color schemes, colors where a big thing for Zelda back then. Grandma matches Malons with only the orange missing. Also her red matching Malon's red hair. I also hc that dependents of the Four swords hero eye color rotates ever generation. Link's Mom Blue, Link Green, Link's Daughter Purple, Phantom Hourglass Zelda Red, its Fun! Also yes I did base Link's father off of Fierce deity a bit SUE ME! ANYWAYS BACK TO THE SHIP! IT IS SO CUTE I'M SORRY! I am also a big fan of the Manga and they are at each others throats in that one! I love it! I am also a fan of couple who goes. "Gosh I want to kill that guy." Guy almost kills that guy. "I'LL KILL YOU FOR TRYING TO KILL THAT GUY I CAN ONLY KILL HIM!"

Thats not what happens.

Thats ocarina of time centric thinking!

The legendary hero is not JUST ocarina of time link. Skyward Sword is where the legend starts (as we know). *thats* the legendary hero. He started reincarnating *after that point*(or hell, started LONG BEFORE THEN) not *after ocarina of time*. You are taking the wrong story beat with you and letting ocarina of time blind you to the rest of the lore.

They mentioned him leaving that timeline to explain there was consequences to leaving behind threads of time. There was a cost to Zelda’s plan in oot and it tragically doomed ANOTHER TIMELINE TO FAILURE and BIBLICAL FLOODING and on top of that, because the hero of time was the hero of *that* time period across the timelines, and him going missing meant *no hero* at that time.

Besides that:

He disappeared for the same amount of time he always does to our knowledge-somewhere between like 100 years to every several centuries. Like… this happens every game, fellas.

Wind waker link is canonically embodying the spirit of the hero, hes one of the lads. The spirit exists in all three timelines and THATS ALSO PART OF THE POINT TO WINDWAKER.

“The spirit of the hero” is pretty very extremely specific in this series even though it is talking about a long string of individuals of various backgrounds and they may not even all be named link or even related by blood! But Its all *the same fucking spirit*, the chain doesn’t break because a single instance of him disappeared or died or failed or whatever. He always comes back. ALL OF the main 3 do, in every timeline. Ganondorf Isn’t a one off. Link isnt a one off. Zelda isn’t a one off.

And this doesn’t take from WW Link’s “just a guy” label either!

News flash: Link is always “just some guy” before he takes up arms!
