For all that Fugo had been within Bruno’s gang for longer than Abbacchio--there was a wealth of experience that set Abbacchio apart from Fugo. Fugo was--Bruno’s rational thinking, but Abbacchio was Bruno’s... he didn’t know how to describe it. He seemed so dissociate from everything, able to get past all situations with the barest change in composure... prickly and defensive in a way that seemed to protect him from everything.

“--How do you do it, Abbacchio?” Fugo couldn’t help but ask one day. “Just... I don’t get it.”
