but shiratorizawa is missing an incredible setter vs seijoh already has a wing spiker. i'd argue that oikawa going to ushijima has a lot more benefit than ushi going to oiks 👀
so i actually think the opposite mainly because oikawa would not fit well being a satellite to a very lopsided team like shiratorizawa
i think washijo would significantly stunt oikawa's growth to the point of frustration
i had a long-ish description of how i feel about their pair using like mmo language but here goes lmao:
basically ushijima is like dps and oikawa is a support. both of them are good at their roles, ushijima to do damage and oikawa to basically set up plays, anticipate issues and protect the team
normally you pair a good dps and a good support to like fucking wreck everything right?
but the trappings that both have in their roles are the following:
1. ushijima is a good dps, but also does not protect himself. he wants to be in the fray at all times which is the worst place for a dps to be. and a dps that doesn't protect themselves or follows instructions is particularly an issue for the support (setter)/oikawa
2. oikawa is a great support but the issue is that he is not as good at stepping back as he should. he's the type of person who loses his cool faster than is beneficial which can lead him to make desperate moves which causes the team to break down.
basically these two would work well in games that are short and easy. once there's any issue, like say they play against karasuno which is by nature an extremely frustrating and unpredictable team to play against there would be a huge breakdown in communication.
now the thing is, seijoh is heavily centered around group stability while shiratorizawa is centered on enhancing individual strengths
as a pair they would especially not survive in a punitive environment but would thrive in a nurturing one
i do think ushijima would possibly be a less good player on seijoh initially but i think for long term growth it would have been a better environment for him
i'm interested to know more about your thoughts tho!
