I found a host of materials that would make a pair of 12-foot wings (24-foot wingspan) weight just 20.3 pounds and be super strong, hydrophobic, terrible thermoconductors, and entirely safe/nontoxic towards skin OR ENVIRONMENT. Without mechanics of course--no motors or pulley systems yet. But hell, 20 pounds? These things might be light and strong enough to carry us after all. :3
