MOTHER FUCKING WINGED TROOPERRR
Biggest bird in the Gar
May not be the artist, but may I propose the Winged Troopers Swoop and Red.
Swoop is a daredevil acrobatic expert. While his rig is dominantly white, his wings and helmet are lined in dark blue with a blush of coppery red on his chest. Patterned after a barn swallow with the same rig as Game. They are the jet fighter pair that protects bomber style Vulture. And serve as high near orbital reconnaissance like the Blackbird plane.
Red is a stealth scout, preferring to keep his rig black whenever possible. Using the suits ability to shift colors to adapt to his surroundings and blend in better. His rig is otherwise standard like Fairy and Flipoff. When he wants color he has red shoulders lined in gold and the rest is black. Styled after the red winged blackbird.
@worm-strung-string @t4ckie-j4ckie there is now seven. Six for precision flight and one for heavy lifting. Totally stealing from the Blue Angels formation. Fairy, Flipoff, sPigeon, and Red are the four in the diamond formation. Game and Swoop are the Solos. And Vulture is Fat Albert.
Since theres more than a handful of winged troopers now, I can't help but wonder what happens to them during Order 66 / after the war. Theyre so expensive and specialised, you cant exactly just shove them into regular clone armour and have them be footsoldiers. The Empire definitely wouldn't want to keep them though- theyre still clones after all. So theyre likely all slated for decommissioning
If theyre genetically altered compared to normal clones though, there stands evidence that they might react like the Bad Batch to the chip + order 66. Maybe it doesn't affect them as much, or maybe only the early Deltas arent affected but the more mass-produced winged troopers are.
There are a handful of different options for them- all of them bad. Im sure a handful squirrel away to the clone rebellion, but theyre probably mostly shuttled off to places like Tantiss, or just killed off outright / neglected / mistreated long enough for them to die. Hmm
Whenever i make a prequels oc my immediate response is "what do they do when everything goes wrong?" So i guess the winged troopers are finally getting hit in the face with that jdjskkshsg. Might think up something better or worse later
Seems like you’re trying to bring me down,
Back down to earth
Back down to earth - Flying, Anathema
You think with the weight distribution these guys would be like the BEST at falling asleep standing up?
I have jetpack feelings,
These ones? Kinda like Jango/mandalorian/standard expected jet pack shape? MID ! LAME! Go girl give us nothing
These little ones, that Cody is allegedly very good at? They intrigue me, unusual and odd but charming, and funky
HOWEVER
Winged troopers? Winged jetpacks? SICK AS FUCK LOOK AT THEM
Amazing, girl give us everything, the silhouette the brute strength it looks to wear and use
I adore you and need someone to present me a winged trooper stat
Fairy's Tattoo
Master Post reference Fairy's Name and the drawing of Fairy's Tattoo which was the inspiration
Unlike most armored Clones, the Winged Squads did not walk around the city in their rigs. Not unless they were prepared for a mission. Their loose gray tunics made them different from the unarmored Clones. It also meant more eyes gravitated to them. Both Clones and civilians had curiosity plastered across their faces while Flight Jar walked through the merchant stalls of the city. It wasn’t often Fairy and his squad had the chance to wander after a mission.
The Mid Rim planet of Gndassis was a massive water world. The few islands teemed with fisheries with fleets of trawlers to hunt the oceans. Assisting the SCUBA division had been interesting. Reconnaissance of fleet movements with infrared mapping of the Separatist ships sabotaging the commerce. The actual battle had Flight Jar playing distraction while the SCUBA teams set charges to scuttle the ships. Actual starfighters had come to engage, but would have given away the entire mission if set out early.
Game and Swoop had certainly enjoyed playing the victim, acting like caged birds unable to escape the crossfire. They regaled their multiple near misses repeatedly while Red and Flipoff joked about how easy the mission had been. Fairy let his eyes roam. Bright, eye catching colors filled the bazaar. All trying to tempt buyers. He trailed behind as his eyes lingered on glittering toy wings.
Also, just occurred to me? Winged troopers... get Favorite Trooper position by default from the jedi cadets. Jedi baby LOVE high altitudes and Going Fast™! You take one of those kids FLYING?
They'll have to physically pry the kid off that trooper with a crowbar.
(Yes they're smug about it. Ha! Who's jetpack looks stupid NOW, ground pounder?! *is surrounded by adorable children begging to be taken on incredibly ill advised high speed flights*)
KEEP THOSE LITTLE FINGERS AWAY FROM THE FLIGHT RIGS!
Any padawan, because Padawan commanders kinda have flight training at that point right? being carried by a winged trooper must be rolled into a padarrito. with a fastened harness tethering them to the trooper, and monitoring equipment because they do NOT want some kid crashing due to altitude sickness.
yes they are very cool, and yes padawans want the big winged troopers on their team, yes this contributes to the ego problem.
But it is a magical feeling when Commanders feel inspired by them, so enthusiastic about them that they try jump so high in the force trying to slow themselves long enough to glide with the flyboys, have some airtime, and touch the skies with them.
