I’m not gonna lie, I was on youtube checking out ‘how to apply thermal paste’ videos the whole time I was getting the backplate on and then it was just... so easy?
the best application method is supposedly ‘pea-sized’ but I’m an adult who doesn’t have to eat mushy scrotum vegetables and, frankly, doesn’t remember the relative size of a pea, so the best tip I got is that pea-sized means about enough to cover the top of any nearby capacitors
so what were you upgrading PCs for, if you don’t mind me asking?

for real, the tsunami was what made me decide to never watch the show no matter what I heard about it. It’s also why I totally jumped on 9-1-1 Lonestar, since I wouldn’t have to deal with people trying to destroy LA with ridiculous. Texas is plenty ridiculous and deserves it.
I’ll be honest, for all of my screaming, I can just write the tsunami (and the other nonsense) off as fun ridiculousness, since I love the characters so much. I went into it knowing the plot would be lighthearted popcorn stuff, and just watch it for the characters, because while it’s far from perfect the show does a great found family and the relationships (both platonic and romantic) are well done.
Multiple people have tried to get me into Lonestar and I’ve had to let them down by refusing. I just can’t deal with Rob Lowe and I don’t feel like skipping around his scenes.

Seriously. I think a lot of the problem is that some fandoms are so fractured that there are multiple big bangs that overlap - so if you write in all of them, there’s no way to write 2-3 50K+ fics at the same time.
That something I hadn’t considered, I admit that. Some fandoms were big enough that even though they were split by ship, there were still enough writers to take on such a large challenge (and most writers only wrote for their one ship anyway). And others were cohesive enough that it was just the one (like Merlin only had one Big Bang for the fandom as far as I know). But that’s a good point.
I’m still gonna be a bit of a traditionalist and grumble that it shouldn’t be called a Big Bang though if it’s going to have a much smaller word count. XD

As a friend who gets treated like a therapist a lot, this is spot on.
It’s such a relief to hear that. I really think more people need to understand this, since people just go, “Oh I don’t need therapy, I don’t have [insert thing here].” And they don’t realize that everyone has struggles and issues they need help with, and they don’t realize how they’re hurting their friends and inadvertently causing resentment in the friendship. I’m so glad to see you agree and to know I’m not the only one.
