Advice dinosaur, have you been successful in love? How do I woo the person/dinosaur of my dreams?

sorry but I’m much to aro-ace to do a good advice on this subject

However, if we look at the dating advice of modern dinosaurs (birbs), it is almost as good as dinosaur advice i think. options include:

do a dance while wearing fancy colours

bring them some nest material

sing a song very loudly at 4 am

impress them by impersonating as many different voices as you can

build a little stage and decorate it with colourful objects and then dance in front of it

weave a beautiful nest out of grass

bring them a neat pebble. (I’m no expert but I think this is probably one of the better advices?? like those shiny little rocks you get in museum gift shops, those are good and most everybody likes them. My mother got me a small piece of bismuth for my birthday last year and it was a very good gift indeed!)

probably many more things, but I can’t remember everything I’ve seen on nature documentaries at the moment, and also a lot of them involve having really nice tail feathers which I’m guessing you porbably don’t have

I’ve been reading and absolutely loving @wingittofreedom‘s enemies to lovers Spock/Kirk (Spirk!) fic, The Sparrow People, and I got to feeling curious about what the landscape would look like (plus I’m havng a moment for painting landscapes, apparently).

This is my attempt at illustrating the hilltop villages with chinampas along the river (and laundry lines between the buildings, and mountains tantalizingly far away).

you can label it as multiple canons! AOS and TOS etc. (if that helps!)

I probably will if I write it and decide it is actually not at all inconsistent with the other canons! I’m just kind of shocked that I think it could be cross-tagged, because usually it’s like... a Spock/McCoy fic labeled as AOS and TOS, and then Vulcan has been destroyed and McCoy’s been to the Academy and gives a shit about rank and Uhura is Spock’s ex and I’m like ???? where is the TOS ?????

1. favourite fic I wrote has to be and i’m ready to go, lead me into the light. it’s still a wip bc I'm stuck on chapter 6, but it’s my fav cuz the concept is so silly. it’s a Star Trek modern day AU where Jim Kirk picks up a distress signal from Area 51, which turns out to be spock calling for help bc he’s trapped in the base. so then of course the whole bridge crew has to raid Area 51 to save him. writing it is such a blast.

2. my favourite lines I wrote are from my fic snug as a gun.

“In another universe, they each have enough food to last them a month within arm’s reach. They share a laugh at their country’s expense, floating through a cubist world, the squelch and slap replaced with clicks and knocks, hyper-aware of each movement that nudges a hand across the clock-face of sheer luck. Luck of the Irish, they suppose.

Daniel has no reason to believe in luck. And, glancing around at his companions, he knows they don’t either.”

24. I read a lot of great fanfics this year, but the one that sticks out is Wise men say, fecking hell- by Anonym_shhh on ao3. this one comes to mind because it updated every week and I commented on every chapter and the author responded, so I always had something to look forward to. plus it has some really good mutual pining and I'm a sucker for that.
