❝ this is so not my area of expertise. ❞ she trusts people too much, is what she’s saying---or perhaps that she has no idea what to do if someone does slip up, or if she’ll even recognise it. layla’s usually at ease in a group of people, but there’s something that feels off, here; it’s creeping up the back of her neck, that feeling, and whispering in her ear. she just can’t hear what it’s saying --- and layla’s not sure that steve can act as translator. ( too many things are off, lately. too many things are confusing. all layla wants is some answers. preferably handed to her quietly, with absolutely no fuss and definitely nobody getting hurt. )
