⚔️ — What would they fight for?
Katyae:
Though her uncle Caesyl taught her how to fight in order to protect herself, she is not one to actively seek out a fight. As a healer, she's usually the one hanging back and taking care of those who do the fighting. But if there was a reason for her to take up arms, it'd probably be to either protect herself or those who matter to her.
Saoirse:
Saoirse is a warrior in her brother Drakon's army, so she's no stranger to taking up arms. Her father, though she does not tell anyone she's met him, urged her during her youth to become a soldier, a weapon -- because that is what she was meant to be, like him. So Saoirse trained herself to be a weapon in Drakon's hands, to fight for him and their people. However, while she knows how to fight physically and is a formidable warrior, Saoirse feels more comfortable fighting with words. She knows how to play the political game being from a royal household and she's good at it.
In short, Saoirse fights for the good of the people she governs, whether that be Cretea or the Prythian Courts who she allies with, and whether or not with word or fist. She would do all in her power to give people justice, freedom, peace, and prosperity.
Isobel:
Isobel is a rider -- a legacy rider, at that, although there's only a select few that know about that fact. She will tell you point blank that she was made for the skies and the battlefield. And she is very good at fighting, whether that be on the ground or on the back of Gaelach. WHAT she fights for, however, is a little more complicated than first assumed. She fights for her home; for Aretia and the Riorson's who took her in when she had nothing left. She fights for Gaelach, who has been mostly ostracized by the Empyrean for his choice to bond her as a teenager. She fights for the innocents drained by the venin, day in and day out, while Navarre turns a blind eye. She fights for Brennan, her last surviving squadmate. At her core, Isobel is just a natural fighter -- it's her way of survival. It's what she'd lay down her warrior lifestyle for that's the more interesting question. ;)
Eithne:
Eithne has a complicated backstory that makes her a little more cautious in general. So far, she would and is fighting for Eris Vanserra. He allowed her to stay in Autumn when he had every right to turn her in to the Night Court for her abandonment of them. Over the years, she has come to truly believe in his vision for Autumn. Unlike his father, he wants to bring about changes and innovating ideas that would open up so many doors for so many of Autumn's people. So, she will fight to bring the freedoms she never had as a child in Night to the Autumn lands.
Beyond that, Eithne herself isnt even sure what she would fight for. In her heart, she quietly believes herself to be a coward -- hiding from her past, turning a blind eye to her family and the continued cruelties of her homeland... Too afraid to make herself visible, she isn't one to throw herself into a fight.
Stargazer:
Stargazer isn't a fighter. He'd be the first to admit that he's more or less a weakling. Even backed into a corner, fighting is not his natural talent. I think the only thing that would push him to use fang, claw, and fire would be his sister's safety. It's all that matters to him and he would do anything to keep Dreamer safe.
🛏️ — How they act when they’re tired
Katyae:
She usually only needs about four hours of sleep a day, but when she's on a streak where she believes it's more important to focus on healing those around her ( which also drains her energy as well ), Katyae becomes sluggish. Her words mumble, her eyes blink slowly as she tries to decipher the words someone says, her body drags with every forced movement. The biggest indication of this burnout is that her skin will slowly go ashen, becoming almost grayish as her energy reserves weaken.
Saoirse:
Saoirse's a master at hiding when she's tired. Her eyes remain clear, her movements carefully calculated, her words measured and steady. The biggest indication of her exhaustion is that her wings will droop, the feathers limp and dull. If nobody catches on and tells her to rest, she will literally keep going until she can't -- many a Seraphim has found her randomly asleep in odd places of the palace. Her body just can't keep up in the end.
Isobel:
Isobel becomes the crankiest S.O.B you ever did see. Red rimmed eyes seeped in exhaustion will glare at you, her lips will tug into a tight frown, brows furrowing in irritation. She snaps at small things that she would normally brush off. Her exhaustion drains away her typical well of patience in dealing with those around her. It also makes it harder for her to concentrate on keeping her second signet hidden. Brennan is usually the one to call her out and practically order her to take a nap. It usually takes a bit of arguing before she relents and does so.
Eithne:
Eithne's rougher edges smooth out when she's tired. Smiles come more easily, affectionate touches doled out without caution. She has a kind heart underneath all her "DGAF" attitude and it shines out when she's too tired to hide it.
Stargazer:
Stargazer spends a majority of his life always feeling tired. It's a symptom of the constant hunger and malnutrition. He is comfortable with being tired. He becomes quiet and tends to carry on conversations in his thoughts rather than be an active participant in any given conversation -- it takes too much energy to engage, in his opinion. When he can, he curls up in a nice warm nook and catalogues facts and analyzes memories in his mind until he can find a moment to finally fall asleep. But he always wakes up tired still. He wonders when that feeling will eventually fade, once he lives in the Rainforest. It feels like a fantasy.
☕ — A small everyday detail about them
Katyae:
Katyae is typically always wearing a pair of elbow long gloves made of a material not found on Earth, but it helps as a buffer to keep her from constantly picking up on emotional imprints or psyches throughout the day. She gets very anxious if she is not wearing them around people.
Saoirse:
Saoirse has a ring on a necklace that she wears, it has two beautiful rubies inlaid on the eyes of a golden serpent band. She plays with it along the chain when she's deep in thought or nervous.
Isobel:
Isobel likes to visit the forge routinely, tinkering and helping make weapons for the Rebellion. Her father was a forgemaster as well as a Rider, his father before him a blacksmith. She wants to keep the family tradition alive.
Eithne:
She has three faces people can expect to see day to day: staring blankly without blinking, the "I will fucking end you if you say a single word in my vicinity" withering look, and the single quirked brow of curiosity breaking apart her RBF.
Default is the staring blankly though. Most people give her a wide berth because of it.
Stargazer:
Stargazer thumps the tip of his tail against the ground when he's thinking deeply, and you can tell how agitated his thoughts are by the tempo of his tail.
🥀 — A memory that still hurts
Katyae:
Katyae has a vivid and photographic memory. So unfortunately, there are a lot to choose from. I think a memory that still hurts her would be Fang's betrayal. She was newly arrived on Earth after so long, she was vulnerable and lonely. She made a choice to heal him, to trust him with the truth of herself, and he tried to destroy her. Regardless of his reasons, every time she thinks about all the parts of herself she gave him... only for him to manipulate her... to violate her trust and her safety... It hurts as much as it makes her so very angry.
Saoirse:
The day that she met her father. His cold gaze appraising her as you would an unpolished greatsword instead of a daughter. His words, sharp and clear like ice, telling her that he was too far away for her to physically reach. Demanding she prove her worth by being the weapon their people were meant to be, pushing her upwards, through a dizzying tizzy of magic so strong it threatened to make her shatter apart with the way it stormed around her. His last whisper as he was pulled away from her: "Your mother hid you from me but I will find you, daughter. You are my flesh, my heir, my most powerful secret. I will find you."
He has yet to keep that promise.
Isobel:
Watching her mother wither from a sickness in her very bones. Until one day she simply didn't wake up when Isobel tried to rouse her.
Her father's death, his blood on her hands from her futile attempts to keep him alive.
Brennan's near death and then Naolin's sacrificial death.
The moment she found the spot where Fen burned.
Eithne:
The memory of her father's new wife finding out about her existence. The Lady was never angry with Eithne, but when she did see Eithne there was always this sadness and gentle pity in her eyes that made Eithne's face flush with shame every time. Her father and his new wife are both gone from this world now, but the memory haunts her.
Stargazer:
Any memory of life on the volcano island.
