Everything led to this moment.

This took an hour and a half to render and my laptop wanted to explode from all the effects and keyframes I used, not to mention the preview window was so laggy the whole time I basically had to guess what everything would look like until it was actually rendered, but worth. Had a lot of fun editing this! And also drawing this. Wasn't supposed to turn into an edit, was just a drawing, but I was extra inspired so!

The song inspired the art, I think I listened to it like 100 times in less than a week or something stupid like that. I was drawing this before I even really comprehended what exactly the meaning of the song was, but knowing now I do think it is a very fitting song for these two. Maybe not in the typical sense, but definitely in a way.

I could just so perfectly see this story play out in my head to every beat of this song.

Intoxicating time, overwhelming space, all you know whirling around you in a concoction no one else has ever known the taste of, and never will. Life so sweet, biting, so many hands grabbing. You'll never be the same again, never be that kid again. Bittersweet in the end, but you can't get enough.

He said he'd be back soon, but now there was no food left in the house, and when she peered out the front door into the woods to look for him... they no longer felt familiar to her like they once had.

Day 2 - Oddities

She had seen many oddities in these woods, things she could never explain. Disembodied eyes lurked in the shadows, watching her. Things that she needed would appear in places she had sworn she'd looked in before... and then this. A creature so different from her, and yet just the same. Odd in all ways.

The eyes still watch her, but further now.
