Wicked: The Untold Story Of The Witches Of Oz
Wicked opened October 30, 2003 with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book written by Winnie Holzman. It is currently running in it’s 15th year on Broadway. It is based on the novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire. When originally approached, Maguire told Schwartz that he was already in talks for a movie version of his novel. Thankfully Schwartz convinced him to do a stage production!
