No visit to Winona would be complete without mentioning my first real house out of college, The Interlaken. I so loved living here. It is a three-story townhouse built in 1902 and restored in 1996, essentially split down the middle with two mirror units. I lived on the right side with a roommate, and on the left side were two of the coolest people ever —@hollidurhamdeloe and @micheyeag . I have so many good memories of those days. Holli and I both worked at Grace, and I would come out my front door in the morning and she would come out her front door and hand me a cup of fresh brewed coffee. OK back in the mid 90s, this was one of my favorite local diners. It was located where Schoops is now in Warsaw. As I was walking down the alley near the Billy Sunday house, I saw the original Boston Grille neon sign, just leaning against a house. I was in Warsaw today visiting my friend @timothywyoung at his studio, so I drove through the campus. I am very excited to say that the signs that I had installed in 2001 or so are finally getting a facelift. They were looking pretty faded and raggedy after nearly 20 years. I love the new look. Also took a walk around the new wing of the science building and the original building. Was so cool to see all the changes they’ve made and how nice it is. I also cool to see that some things remain the same... like pendulum.
