The Felix Project - communion music
With such a great line up it was hard not to enjoy the whole evening. Sitting in the church pews for 3 hours, was a test of endurance but one we would all gladly do this any day of the week to see Mumford and Sons! The church makes such a wonderful rich setting for music amazing acoustics. The crew for the evening did a great job to set up all the acts super efficiently and with such quality sound. Hats off to one and all. I should say that Bears Den pulled it out of the bag and did a top set, all sets were only two or three songs I think the whole church could and would have gladly listened to 10 from the den. They were great. The only weak act of the night and I can't really call them an act were Fat white family. Utter waste of time! Sorry to the FWF fans out there. I mean really. What was that all about? Don't bother to google them. The church was packed and at the strike of 10.20pm on walked the Sons. They All looked very well. Very smart. Marcus's vocals were so good tonight. A and I said this. They started with White Blank Page, every note bounded around the room with such energy. Loved it. Then Ghosts, Marcus starts and then stops as he forgot the words, silence for a good few seconds as he recapped the song lyrics in his head and he just started up again. A true pro! Then they dumped the mics and did Cold Arms at the front of the church unplugged. Awesome. Then wowzers, sounding just stunning "I'm on fire" It was memorising. The time off and rest has served Marcus and his vocals well. After the four songs they were off. But due to popular demand and much cheering they came back and did an impromptu "The Cave". With only a few lyrics forgotten this time! A couple of signed posters were auction off at a snip of a price £110 and £85. Not me. Managed to grab a hand written set list. Always a happy extra. I'd like to thank Bob for fixing it for me to attend. Much appreciated. Good to see the Sons in such a small and wonderful setting. Happy days. Sister C x
