Guess Who Got an Idea for a Universe for My OCs?

It’s a long post, so I’ll keep the info under the cut.

Okay, so the basics is that they all work near a lab / they work in the lab. There are many departments that are separated by floors, and they mostly work on different floors and don’t really talk because of that. Viri and Winter are still best friends, they just talk after hours (Viri works at the souvenir shop on the Tour Floor).

One day, there’s an accident (because they’re in a lab), and everyone meets in different situations and/or separately because there’s been a lab accident. Some OCs are purely human, part-aliens, robots, etc.. 

I know that Winter and Viri are going to be humans, and that Winter would be working in the Edibles Department. Meri would also work with Winter, and help with organizing and memorizing things. 

One person runs the Robotics Department, but they also have the help of robots and a hologram that’s (affectionally) called “Dr. Daisy Caise”. The hologram is actually called CAISE (Clever Artificial Intelligence of Service), and was originally meant to help new scientists. There was only one CAISE made, however, and xe now just hangs out in Robotics.

The lab accident was that a virus spread across the tech and basically shut down the facility. Luckily, stairs are a thing, so no one is stranded on the lower levels. However, now everyone needs to worry about the robots and the computers that operate the doors that are glitching out. It’s kind of harmless with the computers, but it’s causing huge problems such as cutting off communication, messing with the elevators (randomly opening and closing doors), and randomly shutting and opening protective doors. So the virus is still a danger, since it’s randomly opening and closing things.

No one really knows what’s going on with the robots, but Oliv (the person who is running the Robotics Department) is telling people to just knock the robots out, so it’s probably not good. With the robots, you can tell they’re infected because their eyes will be pure HEX code FFFFFF. All the robots have their own HEX codes as their eyes, and even if they look alike, they’re really not .

Their names are their HEX codes, and there’s no 000000 or FFFFFF. Any robots with HEX code 000000 eyes are probably rebooting or sleeping. The virus is spread through chips that attach to any tech. These chips contain the virus, and the virus will only be deactivated if the chips are destroyed or removed (kinda like She-Ra, but only with tech).

3. What is the meaning behind their name? Do they have any nicknames?

“Viri” is short for “Viridian”, which is a shade of green. “Viri” is literally the nickname, but other nicknames include “Vi”, ”Vivi”, and “Deedee”.

8. What do they believe will happen to them after they die? Does this belief scare them?

He doesn’t like thinking about what happens to people after they die. Whenever he has thought about it, he’s always thought about how the living would deal with his death. 

40. Who do they trust most? Is that trust mutual?

He mainly trusts his cousin (Carter Maheswaran) and his best friend (Winter Miele). He hasn’t spoken to Carter in a while, so that trust kinda faded. Viri and Winter trust each other a lot, especially with secrets and stuff.

About Viri

If you have no idea what I’m talking about: Viri is an OC I’ve drawn once. He is Winter’s best friend, and he is Clematis’ roommate (they go to the same college). He works at the souvenir shop on the Tour Floor of the lab a majority of my OCs work at. Viri uses he/him pronouns.

He’s going through college so he can start a business, and has taken many majors to do this. He used to work at a coffee shop, but when Winter mentioned that there was a position open at the lab Winter worked at, he really couldn’t refuse (more time to spend with friend). It’s an easy job, to him, since he only needs to interact with kids, teachers, co-workers, the occasional scientist from the lower levels, and one really stubborn HEXbot. The occasional scientist is often Dr. Vinstock, since they’re the only one who can get the HEXbot downstairs.

The very stubborn HEXbot is 0000ff, who somehow manages to run up the stairs faster than the scientists can use the elevator. 0000ff often “annoys” Viri by messing with the merchandise, taking apart the vending machines, etc.. 0000ff ends up putting the machines back together (”reluctantly”), so it doesn’t really annoy Viri that much. Dr. Vinstock doesn’t really annoy him, either, since all they really do is scold 0000ff and buy a stuffed animal.

I mentioned in his first post that he has a tendency to fall asleep by accident, no matter what. He also sleep walks, but only sometimes. Most of the time, a scientist on the Tour Floor walks him to the break room before he can get into anything dangerous (the Tour Floor is actually three floors: Main Floor, Crash Testing, and the Edibles Department). He’s often stopped on the Main Floor, but he has walked into Edibles once (Meri’s S/O stopped him before he could walk into a flying soda can). 

He likes sewing, and plans to open a business that makes clothes. He is currently doing things locally, since it’s easier for him. A majority of his clothes are either altered or made by him in some form, so he has a lot of experience, but he still ends up pricking himself by accident. 

During the lab accident, he was trying to reason with the door robot (affectionately called “Hooty” by everyone in the lab) to open up so they could get their coffee. Clematis was delivering coffee that day, so he was also trying to reason with Hooty to open up so people could get their coffee. At the time Hooty was infected (it went unnoticed, since Hooty has no HEX lights), so the virus just trapped people in the facility. Meri later commented on how there were “literally no other exits from the facility other than the fire exits”, and that should have been a safety hazard.

About Winter

If you have no idea what I’m talking about: Winter was originally an OC for an emoji OC thing, but later evolved into an actual OC. Winter works in the Edibles Department of a research facility with Meri, and Winter often mixes up and forgets words in English or Italian. Winter uses no pronouns, and there are no exceptions.

Now you know what I’m talking about, there’s new information under the cut!

Winter has three other siblings: Summer, Clematis, and Bennington / Bennin. Winter has more contact with Summer, since au has actually settled down. Clematis is in college, and has been studying a lot, so he rarely talks to anyone. Bennin was doing photography for a bit, but no one really knows what she’s doing now. 

Summer lives in Maine with aur pet pig, Charlie, and often video calls from the house. When given the opportunity, Winter sometimes visits Summer and stays for a week before going back home. Summer is just a really accepting older sibling, and the oldest out of everyone (au mainly does photography, and writes articles for aur blog).

Clematis usually has to be dragged out of his studying to take a break, and Winter usually does it because Winter is closer to him. He will never (willingly) relax, so it’s safe to assume he’s either being forced to relax or something’s seriously wrong if he’s actually relaxing. He’s nearly identical to Winter in personality, but put in some more “recklessness” and add in “inability to relax”.

No one knows what Bennin is doing, not even she knows what she’s doing. She started photography a while back, but stopped because she thought it was a Summer-thing (au tried to explain to her that nothing’s off-limits because one person already likes it, but failed). She’s still in high school, so it worries both Winter and Summer when Bennin talks about finding an end-game job immediately after high school. 

Both Winter and Summer work to help their younger siblings with college (if Bennin decides to go). Summer always has rooms open for aur siblings, if they ever decide to live with aur in Maine (it’s a big house, and it sometimes gets lonely). Viri is Clematis’ roommate, so he helps keep Winter notified if Clematis does something stupid (like that time he drank so much soda it helped him “see faster”). 

Viri and Winter actually met through an incident with Clematis, where he passed out in the middle of the apartment. This caused Viri to freak out (since Clematis never willingly relaxes), and caused him to use Clematis’ phone to call the most recent person (which was Winter). This phone call led to Winter coming over, finding out what happened, Viri and Winter carrying Clematis to his room, and then the two of them talking until he woke up.

From oldest to youngest: Summer, Winter, Clematis, Bennin. Summer is 32 years old, Winter is 27 years old (older by 13 minutes), Clematis is 27 years old (younger by 13 minutes), and Bennin is 16 years old.

Summer uses au/aur/aurs/aurself pronouns. Winter uses no pronouns. Clematis uses he/him and they/them pronouns. Bennin mainly uses she/her pronouns but has been testing out xe/xim/xis pronouns.
